Well I am sitting here waiting for ol’ Gary to pull up in our Budget rental truck. I am stressed there won’t be a place for the snoopy to sit and we’ll have to leave him sitting in the middle of the street as we drive away. OMG JUST MADE MYSELF CRY
It’s been great living here, little town! Thank you for the walkable lifestyle, the insane chirring of the locusts, the hottest I’ve ever been, the nice coffee shop, the really good pals, the cozy winters, the dissertation, the marriage, the dog, AND THE SWEET SWEET CORN
There is no telling how long it will take us to drive to Oregon. I am guessing three days but it depends on if the snoopy goes apeshit or if he just sleeps the whole time. There is no way to tell. We have rescue remedy and cool pot brownies (a.k.a. “valerian liver-flavored gummi bears”) for him, also peanut butter. If there’s a place for me to put my bare feet on him he will also appreciate that, perhaps we can just stuff him on the passenger-side floorboard. He’s pretty skinny.
Leaving a place you have lived is always weird. I’m so excited but also somewhat mournful, just because change is always sad, just because it reminds you that you’re gonna die someday.
I guess that’s probably gonna be my final thought.
YAY MOVING
YOU CAN DO IT
I bet Franklin will heart Portland! All the fabulous other puppies and big puddles in which to jump!

Godspeed, Snoopies- we’ll be here, with pizzas and open arms.
