I made some coffee at home this morning and thought I was being effecient when I turned on the electric kettle when I jumped into the shower. Fast forward to end of the shower... the water was no longer boiling hot... but the kettle was still in "COOL DOWN" mode so it wouldn't reheat yet. So I made coffee that wasn't quite hot enough. AND IT STILL RULED SO HARD. I'm drinking this coffee that Alex brought me from England (no, it's not tea).
Heats the water to specified temp (several settings for different teas and french press, plus boil), then keeps it there. It's perfect for heating water and showering at the same time.
This morning I noticed that people seemed extra rascally. The sun solstice seems to bring the ego to its own peak, resulting in a diffuse rascallyness/edginess/orneriness of the populace.
Building a fire is all about oxygen and architecture, and thinking several steps ahead to where the wood is going to settle once the smaller pieces underneath crumble.
It's my best pagan engineering skill! I got soot on my face like a little old urchin. Drank no coffee today, I am almost totally off of it because it gives me the heebie jeebies. :(
Now that I think of it, I actually had a small iced coffee in the late afternoon before I transformed into FireStarter... I think it helped my singular, dog-like focus on the task.
Early evening Mr. Coffee. Family weekend. It is different, right? 20 minutes in and I'm feeling caffeine burn in my wrists and face. I can do this without becoming violent.
Honestly, tea is finally not working at all for me. I'm probably going to relapse. There are a lot of side effects I don't like with coffee, but I hate feeling like I never get "above the clouds" in my brain every day.
SO STOKED whenever an avowed "oh I switched to tea it's so much better blah blah blah" person publicly admits it's not actually working!!!!!!!
I've seen it happen so many times and each time I am filled with self-righteous glee. Oh yeah, you think it's not working, really? Huh, maybe that's because TEA IS DUMB.

Has anyone else noticed this?
2 cups coffee (8 oz Stumptown, 8 oz office cafe)
2 cups green tea
feel the burn*
*Sally's motto
Upon arrival at the spice mines: one decent shot from the office coffee stand to stiffen the dregs.
A cup of sludge from the break room pot to rouse a sleepy post-lunch brain.
Just now: Another cup o' sludge with a bit of sugar to slay the afternoon nap dragon.
Might try a cup of iced as an aperitif if Tara has any left in the fridge when I get home.
Finally, a digestif from the french press to keep the evening mind sharp.
12pm - PG Tips English tea with a splash of milk

In terms of food - sometimes bagels, sometimes bagels with salmon, and sometimes that insane salmon/smoked cheddar pretzel.
I don't know what the coffee is like at Bowery, but that might be a cool place to meet? http://bowerybagels.com/

It almost sounds really fun.... until, it doesn't.
PS- I am one of those people who prefers tea to coffee and I'll never go back on it, so eat my tea-leaf dust, Sharky!!!!!!!!
The first cup moistens my lips and throat;
The second cup breaks my loneliness;
The third cup searches my barren entrail but to find therein some thousand volumes of odd ideographs;
The fourth cup raises a slight perspiration-all the wrongs of life pass out through my pores; At the fifth cup I am purified;
The sixth cup calls me to the realms of the immortals.
The seventh cup-ah, but I could take no more! I only feel the breath of the cool wind that raises in my sleeves.
Where is Elysium? Let me ride on this sweet breeze and waft away thither.
