  • There has been a lot of improvement over the last week, but it did start kinda slow. I wept during that Biden interview. Melodica guy is a pretty big doofus, but then again so was Paul Shaffer.
  • Yeah, at this point I agree.
  • I just think of the melodica as such a melancholy instrument :(
  • I watched the first new colbert and it was a joy to see him but I agree with UBS2011, the format ruined it. I did feel compelled to watch more episodes.
  • I also agree; the format is tedious and I really don't ever watch any of those shows and probably never will, not even Colbert

  • He's been doing a lot more of the old Colbert thing this week.

  • Likes: interviews, odd-ball nature
Dislikes: weird happy glow, edge has been dulled
    Surprises: cursing
  • I add my sad face. Much too much time spent on the band and stand up intro. Interviews with singles should overlap with doubles. More Charlie Rose less standup. Colbert is smart enough for it.
  • I like Trevor Noah so far.
  • Still on the fence with Noah, first show was pretty good but that one was a result of a week of "pre shows" so they had a lot of time to build it. 2nd show seemed pretty flat. The QVC skit didn't work for me.

Colbert is starting to get into the groove though. I agree with Dr Will that the weakest part right now is the initial monologue. As soon as he sits down at the desk a switch is flipped.
  • dang, this is a new vibe for late night:
  • Take your hands out of your pockets when you're introducing Misty Copeland and Yo-Yo Ma, you yo-yo
  • It's so CBS! Even the color grading!
  • He wears nicer suits in the new show. Also agreed with UBS, the length is cray.
  • Wait, what is nicer than Brooks Brothers?
  • Dang, if they're going to bring more dance performances to late-night, maybe I'll actually watch!

Just kidding, I am the Worst TV Watcher of All Time. Even this could not convince me to commit to any show. John Oliver is the closest I get to commitment and I am many months behind.
