Could still all fall thru as per weird realty things, especially per mountain property, but if you always expect the worst then you're never disappointed!
By that I mean I generally expect that things aren't going to work out, and when they do, I'm EVEN MORE excited than an optimistic person.
WHAT It is beautiful and weird and amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you confident you can rent it out?? holy shit what a crazy huge thing for you to do!!! I'm excited for you

Sometimes the wife and I watch this home buying show on HGTV that takes place in Waco, Texas and these people buy BEAUTIFUL homes for $90,000 there that would be over $400,000 here (probs $500,000)
Today in home ownership news: - buying a washing machine - going to the farmer's co-op and "asking a man there" how to build a simple compost bin - digging a trench to bury 500 rotting apples - calling plumber and crying and begging for help on the phone
I loved getting a new washer and dryer, although I had to spend hours sanding down my door frame to fit them in. Those new washers with the built in sink are funny.
also once I asked my mom the secret to staying married for so long, and she thought about it very seriously for awhile, and then she said "have two bathrooms"
I really like my Consumer Reports subscription for stuff like this. (Also I now often end up in lobbying coalitions with a lady from Consumers Union whose salary is paid in part by my subscription fees, so I feel really good about supporting CR).
Even if they don't have every specific model, you can get a better overview of the range of options and prices and what to look out for. It feels much less daunting. And it helps you weigh priorities (e.g the thing I cared about about most was quiet, because I hate mechanical ambient noise, and the thing H cared most about was a freezer on the bottom and french doors.)
Our options were limited by needing a 33" width to fit into our alcove so the choice was a little easier. We ended up with an LG and it's great so far.
Also: shop sales! Big box stores do big sales on appliances for reasons I don't understand but it meant we saved $900 on our fridge last week versus if I'd bought it today.
Avoid "Side by Side" refrigerators! Go "french doors, freezer on bottom", H was totally right about this!
Ours is so ancient and the freezer is WAY too cold so it gets coated in ice all the time which means it's using way too much power.
Also it has a motherboard in it which has a SPEAKER on it which used to buzz all the time in the middle of the night randomly, so I took it out and de-soldered it but I think it basically can't regulate the freezer temperature anymore.
I had to get a "cabinet depth" fridge, so my options were limited and I went with a lower end Frigidaire. It's fine, but sometimes noisy. Not terribly noisy, but our living room and kitchen are "open concept," so it can be annoying.
I want something like an RV fridge that's about 9 cubic ft or less. Mike wants under-the-counter drawers. Most of the time we have perhaps three beers, some pickles, and a bunch of wilted dill in the fridge, so we need small fridge recommendations!
MJ is your cabinet depth fridge extra tall? They seem to make those tall to make up the capacity.

it's not that big of a deal; just every once in awhile you have to yell "HURRY UP IN THERE" if you're having a lady emergency
this happens max once a month, though, which isn't that often
also once I asked my mom the secret to staying married for so long, and she thought about it very seriously for awhile, and then she said "have two bathrooms"
kevin how did you make your choice?? Any hot fridge tips?
