Totally sincere. I've had dog-friends but I've never been a dog person. These videos made me feel like a dirty species-ist for thinking that way. These beings are not just cute and needy, they are suffering the experience of love and compassion. My hat is off to those who already knew this. For me, I feel like I just found out that I didn't know that I didn't know.
  • wow!
I'm glad you have had this realization. Dogs literally are people. Probably a lot of other animals too are people, but I only have experience with dogs.

anti-dog sentiment among humans blows my mind.
  • The internet is really something.
  • Going to go hug my dog baby

    animal empathy is so real

if it made you too sad, look at this baby beaver:
  • There was a good 60 Minutes feature on dog brains lately (and maybe a Frontline?) ...

"... there was no evidence until the last decade that dogs were capable of inferential reasoning, absolutely not. So that's what's new, that's what shocking is that of all the species, it's dogs that are showing a couple of abilities that are really important that allow humans to develop culture and language."

"What we know now is that when dogs are actually looking at you, they're essentially hugging you with their eyes."
