If anyone knows of rooms or houses where some nice friends might be able to live please drop me an email! (kmikeym@kmikeym.com)
Some of the nice people here in The Program are planning on sticking around Portland for a while and they are looking for places. Thanks!

I'm gonna be looking for a sweet 1 BR or studio or something come October 1 (ish). Not married to any special zone, though I work in SE and prefer to stay on the E side...
Ya'll got any friends moving around whose places are opening up? Ya'll seen somethin special?
Loop me in! I can pay about $800, though anything less would be GREAT.
Probably no roommates...
I have a single-car detatched garage that I think could make a cool little abode if fixed up. It currently has electric but no plumbing. It's seriously just a garage - would need lots of help, but it might be a cool project for someone + me? Also have an extra bedroom (but my place is 730 sq. ft. or something, so it's small - you'd have to like me a lot). Maybe someone could live in extra bedroom while working with me to fix up garage space? I don't know. I'm brain-dumping, I have no idea if I would even want to do this. I just love the idea of converting spaces and it seems like detached studios are in demand right now.
I'm behind you, rooting for you.

I almost lived here once upon a time, cute studios in a good location.
Arijkem -- I've been eyeing that building.
The Pros:
$755/month for 1 bedroom
VERY cute space (lots of cupboards and storage spaces)
lots of natural light
Safe, covered bike storage
W/D on site
Cats OK: PURR
The Cons:
There's carpet...
There's not really a patio or outdoor space (but there is a fire escape right outside one of the windows)
I have until Sunday to decide!
Going to look at more places this week --
FINDING A SPOT IS WEIRD AND HARD!
But also: you might be able to tear it up, right? Ask the landlord?
I think it sounds pretty good.
1. It is gross. Fabric that innumerable strangers who lived there before you have walked on with shoes; spilled food on; fucked on; no thanks! Would you move into an apartment with clothes and bed and bedding all still there and just use it? No you wouldn't!
2. It is impossible to get dog hair out of it even with the finest vacuum in the world
3. It always looks ugly because landlords are cheapskates
4. It is bad for doing yoga on
Also, sometimes it is nice to lay on a carpeted floor because germs are everywhere so fuck it. The floor is a good place to think sometimes.
I prefer a half wood floor and half carpeted place. I had that at my first Portland apartment. Pretty sweet.
I say go for it Lo.
Yes I would! I'd just clean them really well first.
But then again, I have no sense of smell and I think maybe this impacts my ability to find things gross in general. Also, one of the best things about having travelled in India as a poor cheapskate when I was younger is that now absolutely everything in America seems unbelievably clean/nice comparatively. Haven't washed my sheets in a month? No biggie! That's NOTHING compared to "sleeping" for 19 hours on a cramped, wet, filthy, sandy, (poopy? who knows!) mattress on a bus from somewhere to somewhere in India.
YOLO
The current tennant has only lived there since May (before that the carpets, albiet shitty-boring-beige, were replaced)
