I put up some peaches the other night and was left with some nice nectar/juice at the end. Mixed it with some dry vermouth (Gallo is my favorite; hate Martini and Rossi).
Yesterday's beverage highlight: shandy on the Jantzen Beach Red Lion patio, overlooking the Columbia, after a hot bike ride in Vancouver. We didn't figure they could make us an off-menu beverage, so we ordered a beer and a lemonade and mixed our own.
I just finished a bottle of Bell's Oberon while watching "Newsroom." This was just after making some fried rice with peppers and onions for dinner (and lunch tomorrow, and at least one more meal after that - leftovers rule!).
Last night I had lots of margaritas that had orange in it and was really delicious. Also last night we got turned away from a bar because my friend was wearing a hat, which was weird. Also I learned that it is illegal to have credit card minimums.
Wait, that might have changed recently. I remember something about it.

I made up a drink, y'all, and I need your help naming it. It is bourbon with a dash of elderflower syrup and orange bitters. It reminds me that fall is coming. Any ideas?
I am having flu-y feelings that make it painful to live. I am going to try a shot of lime juice, garlic and sri racha to chase these evil spirits from my body.
In addition to spicy garlic potion I popped 4 ibuprofen. Fever is breaking. Feeling a burn in my belly. But this is better than the rest of the day.....
Some of that puffed couscous or whatever from Trader Joes (love this stuff) Broccoli in there Mixed around with some olive hummus Throw in some flax seeds Topped with a fried egg
After a venerated business man let me in on his secret to success (4 to 5 cups a day), I am ON coffee! Going to just drink it all damn day long. This is day two and I feel SO HAPPY.
I am interested in tracking this subject's progress. Andy just got a cold and I told her about UBS's "coffee all day" cure, but she isn't going for it.
I am trying to help an acquaintance set up a very basic liquor cabinet and learn to make some key drinks. Here's what I'm thinking of recommending:
Gin Bourbon Dry vermouth Sweet vermouth Angostura bitters Rose's lime juice Maybe creme de cassis? Obviously, fresh citrus Tonic water
With that, she could make:
Martini (my preference: 1930s style, with actual vermouth in it) Gimlet G&T Manhattan Old fashioned Vermouth cassis (or kir if she has white wine) Tom or John Collins Bourbon sour Dry + sweet vermouth, mixed to taste (I don't know if this has a name but it's delicious) Mint julep
Of course, if she got just one other base, it would help, but nothing is as versatile as gin and bourbon.

Very refreshing!

More research indicates that this changed with the Dodd-Frank Act! Wild. Read more: http://creditcardforum.com/blog/credit-card-minimum-purchase/

Yum! Highly recommend this thrown-together lunch.
I didn't enjoy it
but that wasn't the point
I didn't put a tie on this morning so I could sit around and drink tea.
It makes me feel so good, and then so so SO BAD.
