one clove raw garlic

scoop of protein powder
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 carrots

1/3 of a lemon (with rind)
strawberries

FEEL THE HEAT!!!!!!!!!!

  • also, another favorite smoothie of late:
    OJ and raw Sweet Potato!
it sounds crazy, but trust me it works and is super healthy.
  • IT IS A GOOD THING I HAVE BEEN STARING AT A COMPUTER ALL DAY BECAUSE I THINK MY FIRE SMOOTHIE GAVE ME SOME FIRE BREATH!
  • That is a damn bad ass smoothie
  • God, it's good to be back home where I can get back into my daily smoothie.

I AM A CREATURE OF HABITS. I WANT A ROUTINE.

I would argue that there is nothing boring about a good routine.

Also, routine rhymes with poutine, which makes it useful when you are trying to write a song about Canada.

    love a routine
I love my coffee in the morning, my glass of wine with dinner, my movies of an evening
    love walking the dumb dog
there's a guy who likes routine

it's weird though how certain kinds of routine can become crushing. The 9-5 office job routine, for me, is emotionally devastating.

What makes a routine feel healthy vs. not?
  • I'm right there with you. I love *my* routine, and forcing it into an office schedule makes me feel crazy.
  • My office job routine is 8-6, Mon-Fri and it generally goes by pretty quickly. As long as I'm staying busy and working on interesting stuff.
  • It depends on if you enjoy the pleasure of work and challenging yourself. Sometimes I enjoy that pleasure, sometimes that pleasure wears my spirit away like waves on a shore (I'm the shore).

Food is just growing in the yard.

We have Cherry - Raspberry - Blueberry (immature) - Pea (immature) - Kale - Spinach - Lettuce - Bugs (protein blast)

Does anyone have experience with food dehydrators? If I buy one for $30, will it work? I want to make these cherry candy. Oh, and we also have currant, which I think taste stupid unless dehydrated.
  • I also want one! Report back!
  • currant makes an excellent jam, fyi.
  • I loved my dehydrator. Homemade fruit leather--so tasty!

    tHAT SMOOTHIE soundS insANE
and like it would give me fire ass... all that garlic and ginger.... jim carey coming out of the bathroom: DONT go in there.....
  • i have had to pull back on my hard core smoothie, alternating days between garlic and horseradish. my tummy just couldn't keep up.

the cayenne pepper, however, is where it's AT. i am quickly acclimating, and suddenly LOVE spicy food (i have traditionally been a wimp in that regard). feeling a bit congested? mix a half-teaspoon of cayenne pepper with a 1/4 cup of warm water- swish it around in your mouth before you swallow it. BURNS SO GOOD! even better- smear some wasabi straight onto your tongue!

  • one time I accidentally got wasabi on my eyeball and saw Jesus

If you are tired but have to stay awake, a pinch of cayenne, taken through the nasal capillaries, invigorates the blood.
  • It's also good for sore throats because it increases blood flow.
