I am grading midterms!
I really fucked up the midterm somehow. It's like every student got 102% on it and then randomly two people got C minuses. What did I do????
In the 30 minute window of glorious spring weather this morning I walked the dog. Now it's raining again--I nailed it!
bye

Laid in bed for an hour thinking mildly-moderately stressful thoughts interspersed with reflections on the movie "Crazy Stupid Love"
Read half of Entertainment Weekly and watched half an episode of Modern Family
Showered (not getting hair wet)
Sent Friend off to get waffles for us to eat
Looked at fleece jackets online
I am still not dressed
they are really smart, it's true. Unusually smart for their dumbass age group. I am pretty awed.
Your day sounds weirdly stressful even though it mostly has involved "lounging." How do you feel about your day?
I'm not dressed either. How ironic, since i was just the other day bitching about how much I loathe "all-day pajamas." NOW WHO'S LOATHSOME???
It's dumb. Why Saturday Blues?!? Sunday Blues are bad enough!
I think it's because I romanticize the notion of coffee and crosswords and lazy and then when it happens I get super bored and feel like I'm not doing anything with my life.
Today is work. Earlier I made crepes. Flipped 'em like a pro. Straight-up.
And the (shitty) NBA all-star events.
And poker later.
BACHELOR WEEKEND
Wanda did yard work also this morning
SO TRUE, I think this says it perfectly. "Ahh, I can't wait to just be lazy after this crazy week!" Then after like 20 minutes you're like "God I'm a shit head"
RCH your day sounds killer
Then drove J-dog down to Grandma's house in the no cellphone backcountry south of Corvallis. Learning a lot about the medical administration nightmare my Mom is involved in with my 90 year-old Grandma.
Your mommies are in my thoughts!
Somebody call Gary!
Did I say that
My day was devoted to fucking cleaning. First, errand to Ikea (and Ikea breakfast!). They didn't have the thing we frucking needed- a covered t.p holder. Neither did Target or Home Depot!
Our little prince is currently entranced by shredding entire rolls of TP while we sleep... it's really messy.
We never found that thing, but purchased a toolbox, weird small shelf, bleach, catnip spray, and other crap . This outing made me feel crazee.
Then we cleaned the shit out of the house! It still needs even more cleaning!
Now I am doing all the shitfucking laundry! 4 loads of it!
I would LOVE to have a day doodling around my house, doing nothing- I don't even think that would make me emo. Wasn't in the cards, tho, cause I can't do nothing OR anything in a dirty house.
How much TP will he shred tonight?????
But at least tonight we are having a traditional-style family dinner of fishsticks and sweet potato fries.
first, i woke up in a fancy hotel in midtown manhatten. i got coffee and then went for a stroll in central park- where i found a zoo that i hadn't realized was there so i sat and watched the sea lions flop around. i ate a hot dog and then met up with our very own k mikey m as well as jamie, scott, and harvest (portland people in new york / ex-portland people living in new york) - we went to a bar called the OLD CASTLE and jamie took notes as k mikey m held a meeting. we all then went to the MoMA where a movie i made was showing, but since i had seen the movie a few times already i wandered around the MoMA looking at all the art and then went and did a very nice question & answer session with an audience that was both bigger and more enthusiastic than i had anticipated! we then went to eat sushi with even more portland people and also some real new york people, and then jamie took us to some weird art-installation meditation zone that has been running in someone's tribecca flat since 1978 that was basically the weirdest deepest black-light-drone-vibe i have ever experienced. we then went to a Russian vodka/piano bar and got tipsy, and now i am back in my fancy hotel wearing a robe and getting ready to watch cable! I LOVE NEW YORK!
It's one of my favorite places ever in the world!
La Monte Young
Sounds like a great day!
Next level will be iTunes, tumblr, youtube, and vinyl.
and when the volunteer who was working the door learned that we were from Portland asked us if we were familiar with White Rainbow! we were like "yeah, think we heard of him"
Also I ate a nyc bagel. It was great.
My Sunday is going great. Similar activities to yesterday but today I got up early and met a friend for coffee and a treat. I think getting up out of the bed and putting on the clothes right away is pretty key to staving off the blues. Purposeful relaxing as opposed to listless relaxing perhaps?
I'm now eating mini spinach pies and watching NBC shows on Hulu. Later I will purchase groceries for the week and clean up a bit, then watch the Oscars at a friend's house. Great day!
But no, good times here on the farm. The firewood is in the woodshed. Jdawg swept out the bunkhouse. Good to get better in synch with the Mama unit. (Did I tell you she's a bit of a kooky-brid? Shhh... it's true.)
I stayed up late with some ladies, then stayed up even later reading a book about Catherine the Great, and slept in (til 10!).
I did not shower or dress, but I did get up, make the bed, and put on a sweatshirt & make a good breakfast. Since I have been laying on the bed! Catching up with my internets, doing small tasks, laying my feet upon the cat, etc.
NO BUMMER
no emo
sriously chillin'
Why can't the weekend be 3 days? I need one more day to go roaming, take a drive, breathe fresh air...
Had to kill hours of time on the net til my tummy unknotted... got in some good blogging though
Hugs
I did some boring work in my cubicle this weekend, went for a jog in that burst of sunshine we had but wore too many layers and got too hot, so it didn't last long. I called the vet because our dumb-face is acting like everything hurts him. I spent the night at my sister's house with my 3 yr. old nephew and 7mo old niece. Lot of dancing to the "monkey song," which is something saved special for Auntie Moosh (that's me).
This afternoon I'm going to attend the opening of Disjecta's biennial at the art gym and get food somewhere with a friend. Then I will pick Matt up at the airport. That's all.
did some work, some crossword, some coffee.
but i am about to hit that "Sunday wall".
also, it is sunny outside and i am just staring out the window at it which doesn't help!
1. I like my coffee HOT. I mean really really REALLY hot. No one knows how I can handle such hot coffee touching my sensitive tongue, but I can and I won't have it any other way. Drinking my hot coffee causes me to sweat a lot, though, so I need to do it before I shower. However, it seems inevitable that once I have made myself my coffee and sat down in front of the computer, I am doomed. Three cups and five hours later (exaggeration), I might realize I am wasting my morning.
2. Even more awesome than getting right in the shower and getting dressed in the morning is...EXERCISING first thing in the morning! And you have to do that before you shower. My sleepy self is completely averse to this idea, but it always seems like a possibility and something I should really talk myself into...something I should think over...maybe as I'm sipping my hot coffee in front of the computer.
Ok, I see now that these are quite clearly lame excuses and not conundrums.
Today: got up at 10:30, had coffee, got my tax stuff together, ran to Kinkos, printed tax forms, rode my bike in the rain up to Red E, met with my tax lady for an hour, rode to Brass Tacks, had a sandwich, rode to Albina Press, got a decaf coffee with Azure, have been wireframing a website here for 3 hours, then tonight is my mom's citizenship karaoke party at Voicebox in NW Portland. Sometime in the next 2 hours I need to find a chocolate cake for her party. FUN!
because we are talking about star wars today
I am also drinking coffee
just met with a student about her paper on lord of the rings
it's a pretty normal day
wearing real high heels, not great for my old-lady hip
really looking forward to getting an epic shit-load of work done this weekend. I CAN NOT WAIT. OH GOD. Turning off the phone, not putting on pants for 2 days. By the end of the weekend I will hopefully have erased this terrible pit in my stomach I have whenever I think about this task that needs doing. WORK
Drinking DECAF because I'm off coffee but still love hot drink/treat
Drinking tangerine juice because it's cute
Getting a massage later for my impossible neck/head situation
Watching and mocking America's Next Top Model with a buddy
Petting my stupid, stupid cat and letting him step on my face
Reading a horrible thriller on Alan's hacked i-pad kindle fire
Watching some flowers open, waiting for them to be just right to use for a project
Really looking forward to doing my own work this weekend too! But I also want and need to see friends... friends? Can we hang out briefly, please? I like breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee, sitting on your apartment floor, petting your stupid, stupid pet, and pizza.
Now at work everyone is nerding out about the iPad 3.
does he need an airport pickup??
I can not wait to punch that guy in the mouth.

It feels like he's been gone FOREVER

Ate about 5 white cheddar CHEEZ-ITS.
Composed some promotional tweeting for Souciant. (Really good one today deconstructing Netanyahu's creepy Purim gift to Obama Monday. Me so goy, didn't know nothing about Purim. Mitchell Plitnick is amazing on Israel. I can't believe we've got him weekly.)
Tried really hard not to lose any more time to my endless UHX argument with @KDawg. (Semi-successful.)
Put off a necessary piece of business writing for another couple of days. (Ugh.)
Spread some Facebook around about the lovely edition of our weekly internet program Central Sounds that I co-produced on HollowEarth last night. (Guest hosts played all 90's R&B Love song/slow jammzz and took an awesome group photo of the in-studio party crew.)
That lead to many minutes lost composing an overly comprehensive comment about Facebook privacy on a famous older friend's Facebook wall. Then lost power on this electric typer screen machine. Found the plug. Didn't lose any semi-composed text files. Then apparently lost my internet service. Dang. Will have money for that next week. Switched over to my phone 'hotspot' account. Posted Facebook privacy essay. Saw that this little text box was still open on UHX so endeavored/-ing to finish off this slice-of-life post.
G-friend just texted with a question I can't answer from memory or fingertips.
Somebody is coming over in an hour or so (with money they owe!), then fetching J-Dawg from her elementary school.
To do:
Answer G-Friend.
Bathe.
Put on pants.
Wash dishes.
Straighten out J-Dawg's area.
Finish resume tweak. (Starbucks? Amazon? That game company that so and so just started with?)
Add protein to a slice of bread. Eat.
Survey the marketplace for economic opportunities.
