Let's agree that we are all very impressed by K. Michael's bachelor diet. We've seen the photos of the juice and the scrambles and the salads. I wish I was as classy in my eating habits when I dine alone, but alas I often find myself eating a quesadilla with spinach or spaghetti with spinach or macaroni and cheese with some spinach in there. See, the spinach makes the meals healthy. This weekend my Friend is skiing and I am eating all kinds of starchy foods with token leaves of green! What do you eat when you're all alone?

I definitely ascribe to the homemade Ramen lifestyle. I like trying weird noodles from Fubonn. Throw some veggie fish balls in there, some gai lan, some hot chili oil.
I like making cacio e pepe with fresh pasta from pasta works. It's fast, easy, unhealthy, and delicious. Perfect bachelor(ette) food.

The smoothie is banana, yogurt, cranberries, spirulina, wheatgrass, tofu, almond butter, and almond milk.
The juice is 1 grapefruit, 2 kiwis, 5 celery ribs, 1/2 bunch parsley, 1 tsp spirulina.
I FEEL GREAT!

- Corn chowder from Whole Foods
- Honeycrisp apple
- 2 cups of drip coffee from the office coffeemaker (Stumptown house blend)
- 3 pints of water
I'm headed to a staff meeting- going to bring an apple so I'm less tempted to eat the mini chocolate bars our principal always puts out.
The "trick yourself" snack NEVER WORKS, because any snack that ISN'T the one you brought is ALWAYS more tempting.
My day ended even weaker than it began:

coffee
no lunch
got home, ate huge bowl of collard greens with nothing else
ate piece of pizza
drank stout beer
went home, ate entire rice krispie treat

then I rode my bike to Mississippi Pizza and met Freddy and Calvin for a HOT SLICE

the boy eats his pizza upside-down like some sort of madman. It shook up my perceptions of reality and did me a world of good.
One day I realize I have a craving for snack foods... the orange kind.
So I'm like, bad girl, have some celery.
Then I remembered that if I deny myself something, I am sure to rebel disproportionately days later.
So like I got a small snack pack and the fizzy yeasty drink I wanted to begin with. The alternative is that days later I would freak out on a family sized.
