Real Time Social Networking (RTSN) is a Money Blog theory based on the axiom that “it’s not what you know, but who you know.” By positioning yourself around people who meet certain criteria you can have the dual benefits of increased social circles and friendship as well as the potential of new money making opportunities.
Most people who attempt to network fail because a network is a thing, not an action. Let’s look at the typical social network of a person:
In the center is You, and if you are lucky you have a partner. The circle around You and Your Partner is the people you are close with. The next circle is people You interact with on a frequent basis. The third circle is people who You see on a regular basis, but you aren’t seeking them out. Outside the circle is people you interact with, but not by choice. People on the line represent edge cases.
This, while typical, is a horrible social network. One of the key concepts of Money Blog is that you should work on projects with people no father than level two. In this situation that means Your Partner, Child, Your Friend, and possibly a Family Member and An Old Friend.
The goal of RTSN is to apply time and focus to this graph to create a richer and fuller social network in the same way that time and focus adds money to your bank account (via interest). Here is the social network of The Money Blog:
In this example I removed the third circle, and limited the number of people because it quickly becomes an unreadable mess. This is what you want to happen. Notice that in addition to connections from MB1 and MB2 to the other people there are a lot of connections from various Friends and Family to each other. A Key Concept of Money Blog is to make a mess of your social networks, and RTSN is the key to creating that chaos.
The exact mechanics of RTSN have been developed over years and while it is true that many of the aspects of RTSN are “common sense” it’s also true that rarely is common sense something people tend to apply well. By breaking down RTSN into a series of steps we have made it possible to hyper-energize your social network into something so vast and complicated it is impossible to keep track of. We will be selling the RTSN plan for $9.99 ($4.99 for members).
