I think there was a writer (Celia Farber?) who bugged out of Spin around the time who was invested in AIDS counter intelligence. Who jumped to Penthouse. But I could be wrong. Way back in the day they had Robert Palmer and Nick Tosches and oh man I can’t think of her name but she was a great feminist humorist, and yada yada some really good writers with smart things to say and more edge than you’d ever expect and that you’d never get now, hardly even anywhere … {sigh}
