I try and stand a lot at work when I'm at the counter. Padding underneath your feet/shoes helps a lot! I have a thick rubber mat that cuts down on leg hurt.

i stand corrected. the first article i read implied that this was not the first time someone had died "of planking". but i can't find any other "confirmed planking deaths". HOWEVER Wikipedia cites two cases of Chubby Bunny deaths.
