Working So Hard!

edited November 2011
Who is working so hard this weekend?
I have been in my office since 7:50 a.m. and just now finished one of the three huge things on my list.
Feeling good!
Gotta plow ever onward, though, no rest for the weary! Gary's in charge of dinner tonight! We're having POT PIE
Up next is class planning for my interview, then yoga to ward off panic attacks.

Anybody else engaged in furious labors this chill November Saturday?

GET BACK TO THE WORD DOC, YOU SLACKO!

  • Josh and I woke up at 7 this morning to go on a hike with Even from the HK. Then we got coffee, tacos, and now we're cleaning up before we head out to MJT and then Paul F. Tompkins show. NO REST ON VACATION!
  • WOW

I'm taking a break from my job talk to compile a list of questions my friends have been asked in job interviews. "How would you define 'American Music'" is one of them.

    IS IT A TRICK QUESTION

I am trying to finish a music video soon, so I started working on it when I woke up. I learned that it is not effective to try new plugins and techniques while working on a project, so in the future I will set aside time for f***ing around.

    I would say this*:

*maybe by just literally pulling out my iPad during the interview. Is that done?
  • I work hard all weekend every weekend! This one is particularly cold and busy.
Working really hard on this, in particular.
  • Pounding out a ten page paper today (five pages in!), working at least six hours at "the office" tomorrow. Workin hard!
  • Just bought a ton of wood for a project and got a nice big splinter.
Have to write an Art History paper
Have to plan to take down my space at our little office experiment thing because we are getting kicked out early because of bad planning.
Have to keep making stuff until I can make no more!
    would like some booze...
  • In the studio now getting a few things done so that I feel like I did more this week before the long weekend coming up.
  • Well said.

    But Felicia....

Why be happy? You don't need to be happy in order to work hard. If being happy is something you don't want to do, then don't let society guilt you into thinking it should be.

If you're already working hard, you can find fulfillment in things other than your happiness. If you're not working, decide if too much pleasure-seeking is the problem. If it is, then you'll need to put in some effort to get back to work.

As for me, I'm happy because my job is hard work. Then again, I don't really care about happiness.

Nuance is the spice of life
  • "The US military is developing software that will let it secretly manipulate social media sites by using fake online personas to influence internet conversations and spread pro-American propaganda."

    Felicia10?
  • I wish that was my job. But then again, I think our country is so great that it doesn't need any formal propaganda... don't our films, music, McDonald's french fries, and outrageous dance styles already say everything there is to say?
