In upsetting and flabbergasting news, our cat died.
Why would this happen?!?
We got two cats and both of them got sick and died. Does the universe have a message for me? Was it something I said?
Spooky became ill very suddenly and I had to take him to Dovelewis yesterday. X-rays showed his chest filling up with fluid, which could only be caused by a few things, all terminal. They drained the fluid to see what it indicated, and mostly to see if I could take him home for a day or two to have a proper goodbye, but he was getting sicker by the hour. Poor little man with a high fever and no energy to walk.
These people were so kind to me, but no amount of kindness can change how awful it was. He was really freaked out, and I had to leave him there.
What else? Should I get another cat or never again????

Losing a pet is a total bummer.
Take a while, celebrate the friendship you two had.
Don't rush into a new pet, it's like a rebound.
Respect his memory and go through the grieving process.
I'm sorry this happened to Spooky.
I'm sorry this happened to you.
You are not being sent a message about you and cat ownership. Just bad luck. So shitty though.
as someone who both lost a very beloved pet recently and also got a new pet recently, i do highly suggest you wait awhile before getting a new one. it will be difficult, but the wait is important. and then when the time is right you will find just the right little furball who is waiting to go home with you.
Just feel kind of scared now, like cats are destined to die on me... I don't want to see those big sad eyes for a really long time!
at least they had a good home while they were alive?
a lot of cats never even get that.
He really needed a home! He is so handsome!
We're all growing into it together, but so far it's just been great. He is VERY soft!
*Spooky, never forget
