How loud can I listen to Skrillex music on headphones without causing damage to my hearing?

I can attest that Dale probably listens to Skrillex music way beyond the level that causes hearing damage.

But I am a low-level no fun fancy who stuffs TP in my ears at the movie theater.
  • (fixed your post)
  • I HAVE STUFFED TP IN MY EARS AT MOVIE THEATERS!!!

I am so sensitive to noise! I can't even do headphones on an airplane because in order to hear anything I have to use a volume that causes physical pain. I look around at everyone jamming on headphones on the plane and I am like ????

Noise-cancelling headphones will change your life on an airplane. They dramatically reduce the engine noise so you can listen to your music/podcast/movie at a reasonable volume.

Even if I'm not listening to anything, I'll keep them on just to cut the background noise.
  • I'M NOT MADE OF MONEY
  • Yeah, when you have been settled a while and have more savings, noise-cancelling headphones are a worthwhile investment. I was lucky enough to be given a pair by a friend, and "life changing" is not an overstatement. It's totally insane how much of a difference it makes to the experience of being on a plane, and you can finally listen to something at a normal volume.
  • I LIKE IT LOUD. But I am afraid of tinnitus.
  • Yeah, but it's also much clearer sounding without all the white noise of the plane.
  • Also: you hear funny conversations because people have to speak loudly to each other on the plane and don't realize that their voices aren't masked by the engine when you're wearing these headphones.
  • Great for stock tips if you're sitting in first class.
