  @Alex there has been a (small) discussion in the venture community on why me-too apps verses startups attacking big problems. There are also a ton of gratuitous design objects being produced - see KS and Grand St. On the other hand, social entrepreneurship is rising.

  Really, the best part of the Vessyl video is the woman who says she only drinks water. SO WHY WOULD SHE NEED A $200 CUP?

  I thought Vessyl was a parody video until the last 30 seconds or so. Every quote also applies to a clear glass cup.
  
  When one of them talks about the simple line that tells you how much you've drank -- it's the horizontal line at the top of the liquid. Need to know what's in your cup? It's clear, just look.
  
  Then there was an actual product and I realized it was sincere. :(
