question for the inidie rock nerdz

edited June 2014
hey! on the heels of my recent request for dialogue concerning my forthcoming crowd funding effort, I have a similarly related question. some of you may recall that I directed a video for the band The Shins a few years ago. In the video, for the song Australia, the Shins dudes go to a car dealership and 'liberate' all the balloons that are tethered to the cars. Before doing so, Jimmy Mercer, in character, maps out the gangs' plan of attack on a piece of paper. The map/plan J drew up was pretty cute and funny:

so (finally) my question: I still have this drawing, and it, along with some other autographed things, will be one of many great rewards offered on my upcoming Kickstarter campaign. But I have no idea what $$ level I should list this at. It is goofy, but also one of a kind. The Shins have also sort of become a pretty big deal.

Any idea what something like this might fetch?

  • Man, I think you'd need to talk to some kind of memorabilia expert like you would see on one of those cable TV pawn shows to get a real estimate instead of a bunch of guesses.

    $1000?
  • Have one of the lower level tiers enter everyone into a drawing to get the diagram. Then you get to have multiple people pay for it.
  • I would go quite a bit less than MZ.

    I'd say like $250

  • This guy is an expert!
  • Yeh but on a kickstarter we all go in knowing the rewards aren't worth what we are giving. so if actual value is $250-$1000, depending on if you find someone who really wants that drawing, i'd say set it on the high end.
  • Ask a Shins message board :)
  • Ask James Mercer.
