I'm a TOTAL heat baby. Almost passed out in semi-warm yoga (not even that hot!). I'm a sucker for passing out when I exercise in the heat. I'll probably have to pass unless the forecast changes.
I actually love it too, I'm so stoked on it flirting with triple digits. My hometown is supposed to break 100 every day this week, with a high of 108 one day :) I MISS IT
I have an inflatable kayak and a friend who has an inflatable kayak that's not as good as mine! Who wants to get crazy and float something with bigger waves than the Sandy/Clackamas "float" sections? I'm guessing: NO ONE. But if I'm wrong, let me know.
Bill mc and I have concluded that you are all together on some awesome Sunday excursion without us. I guess we'll go hiking/swimming sans urho friends!
Ian's college friend arrived in Portland semi-spontaneously so we took her and her fam to the Sandy. Beautiful spot, rough crowd. Witnessed a fight in the road involving a tire iron, martial arts, and a sizable rock.
WOAH, which Sandy spot? I didn't go to the river, but I misted myself in a friend's backyard for a few hours.
Incidentally, a dude tried to start a fight with me at Holocene for drinking his beer, and when we pointed out that he'd actually knocked his own beer over while making out with his GF, he tried to buy me a drink.
I told him that his default state shouldn't be so quick to anger, and that he should be more chill.
It was on the road into Oxbow park. Lots of cars were lined up waiting to register at the ranger station and dudes got mad. The guy with the tire iron smashed off the side mirror of some random lady's car! Wish you were there, Alex, to preach your message of peace!
Matt and I had the opposite river experience. Found a secret spot on the Nehalem, swam across the river to a little sunny beach, coached our dog through the current, which was pretty cute. We saw crab and muscle shells! Very relaxing. Croquet in the backyard that evening.
Incidentally, if anyone EVER wants to play croquet, we've got a game going pretty much non-stop. Just come on over.
At OXBOW? Wow. That place is usually pretty family-friendly/chill, even when it's busy. We were going to go yesterday around 2! Glad we didn't go, I guess.
Comments
disclosure: i own no softball equipment.
also: in the past, have we reserved the field, or just shown up?
I'm in Toronto right now. They say "project" funny, which means actually I say it funny. And I say that word a lot.
Weird thing about Canada:
1. It's fucking SMALL. Not many humans there. Less than California.
2. There are three real cities: Vancouver, Montreal, and Toronto.
I always think of Canada as a big place because it's all giant looking on a map.
Where and when?
remember to stretch
Could postpone to another weekend.
3 days of REAL BROOKLYN SUMMER!
i'll also throw discussion concerning croquette and/or badminton into the mix as well (playable in the shade!)
I'm just sweating in my house!

Follow up question: did you win the fights?
