Goose Hollow is fine, but some of the downtown apartments allow people with felonies to stay there, so I'd google the apartment building for sure to make sure no molesters are living there.
Not sure how to tell about bubbling, but you'll probably be able to tell if there's wetness/damp areas on the walls or ceiling?
You need a better commute sitch for next year if you're 5 days to the hill with no commute. You really should live on the west side. I'd say Goose Hollow is still a bit too far to Pioneer Square (for Pio shuttle) and bus mall, but it's better than where you life now.
You should live in South Waterfront and take the tram to Terwilliger, then bus/bike from there. How weird would that be?!
I chickened out I've been looking at apartments even though financially we can't move until August. I keep thinking I should look, in case there is an amazing deal, but what would that even mean, it would have to be $600 a month! Not gonna happen. When confronted with actually going to the place and looking at it the reality of our financial situation hit me and I was like "I've been a fool"
Oh man. We have exact opposite strategies, YT. Matt and I (when he lived in PDX) would OFTEN plan "weekend excursions" to check out properties we couldn't afford, just for fun!
I think the "amazing deal" scenario is more likely to surface via word-of-mouth than craigslist - right?

Also does anybody know anything about that area? Goose Hollow seems janky but HOW janky? After Iowa City I think my jank-o-meter is off
