NSSSOTD

edited April 2013
If I was a hax0r I'd make my own song the SSOTD, but instead I'll just try to trick everyone by saying it's the NSSSOTD (Not So Secret Song of the Day).

Also, instead of posting it as a YouTube (there is no video yet... RCH, we should talk?) I'll just link to iTunes so you can buy it for $0.99 (also, click on "related" to see other cool music!)

Thanks so much to the best Boys in the business!

  • I can't hear this song without seeing that shot from the Today show bit where they pan up on the cardboard cutout.
  • I envision a "day in the life" style video... shot from above: you're in bed. When the beat drops your eyes open, you yawn, stretch (the clock says 5:55), then bound out of bed at a jogging pace. Your day begins with a brief run on the treadmill while you check stock prices on your smart wristwatch. Juice is consumed, your tie somehow flies behind you as you head out the door with great speed. You walk to your office and everyone knows you on the way there. You head into the office, turn on the lights (you're always the first one in), and get to work... on your work treadmill with the laptop-holder. Break for a variety of punchy visuals showing the excitement of today's modern marketplace... pictures of the earth at night with all the lights, some ticker tape clip art, OWS protests, a kid putting his first quarter in the piggy bank, families cutting the ribbon from their small business, etc. This is interspersed with some really exciting shots where you are talking and pointing at business-type people off camera. It's essential to have you talk on an old-school mobile- or car-phone at some point (I like the old car phones that had the curly cord going into the front middle of the car). OK so that's like 30 or 40 seconds in
  • RCH you are genius
  • I have a lead on one of those cell phones with the separate case:

    (this exact one)
  • My moms boyfriend (growing up) had one of those bags (it was leather). He was always my favorite of her boyfriend's for that reason...
  • My mom had one similar to the one above because it helped her juggle work and kids.

You guys are blowing my mind!

My uncle had a car phone in his beemer but it was LA in the 80's
"Shall we say Spago around 3-ish? Great. Bye, darling" or "ciao."

MZ, thanks very much for the great prop lead but I gotta know... why do you have this lead?
  • You guys, I love this thing we have here, all of you. Thank you.
  • Do you know Mikey Kampmann? He posted that photo and the phone belongs to a guy who I've met a couple times. He was actually at the Team Video shoot for Mikey's presentation, but I think you missed that one.
  • i love you guys too!!!

we had a car phone like that in the early 90s
literally no one ever used it
we got it due to my mom's anxiety re: us living in the middle of nowhere with an unusable road in the winter, and no phone lines, and what if someone breaks their leg
luckily this never happened so we never used it
my brother and I thought it was "rad" and "boss" but were not allowed to carry it around with us as we desired
