This is a funny injury. A singular toe being sprained! Rarely is it heard of it humans (most toe injuries go straight to "broken) much less the animal kingdom.
I know, I keep talking about it because it's so funny!! Also that it's specifically his pinky toe
who knows how he did it? Maybe one of us stepped on it, or he twisted it while doing his insane lap-running, or ???
Vet says she thinks it's a sprain and not a fracture. Offered us $80 x-ray to see for sure. We asked what the treatment is, if it's a fracture. "Same as a sprain, just for 6 weeks instead of 2." So whatever.
All you can do for it is keep him mellow. He's on-leash for 2 weeks, no runnin' or hoppin'. Poor bub
