  • I'm stoked to show you guys what I put together!
  • I think it's really weird that the presenters only have 10-15 minutes each??
I really did not like the "audience participation" element. Were it not for SHAUN that section would have truly bummed me out, and we can't expect a SHAUN each time...I want to really see what the presenters have for me! 30 mins! Come on! Who can we petition
  • I uploaded my compilation vid to YouTube! It's waiting to be viewwwwed.
  • I can pass this along. Also, I think Crystal and Stefan read this, so maybe they already know!

I agree... would love a longer lecture.

Also, people should edit longer clips to just the part that makes their point.

Wish I could be there! Someone take notes of the good jokes for me, okay?
  • I think 10-15 minutes is PLENTY of time per presenter.

Also, maybe we should wait until the event has happened more than once (especially since its gonna be monthly) to make big criticisms. These things generally take a few attempts to really settle into a format.

  • It's a great event, I am just saying a thing I didn't enjoy about it. I like a presentation to really dig in and feel its oats! Saying something ABOUT all these weird youtube videos, instead of just watching a bunch of weird youtube videos, which is what we all do in our homes all day long.

Regardless, it is a great event and I will go to all of them. Had so much fun at the last one.

Good call on letting things settle before criticizing, I apologize.
  • If (when) I do this I would present VERY short clips, because that's my particular jam, so there is just no way I could get to 30 min and still entertain.

    Depends on the 'tubes!

I am super excited to come to this. Usually I work, but I took the day off to work on PACKING and MOVING BLARGHHH.
  • I dont think its presented as lectures because they want it to be open to more people than those who feel comfortable do a lecture.
Some artists are incredible at finding weird things and tying them together that no one else would do it that way but they might not want to lecture in the traditional way.

I think you have a great idea for a different competing YouTube event maybe.
  • "Also, people should edit longer clips to just the part that makes their point."

I edited long clips into one megaclip. Unfortunately, I won't be saying much about them. I just want to show a bunch of weird clips. SO SUE ME, YOURSTRULY!
  • I wish she would sue you.
It would be a fascinating case.
  • I would lose the oral arguments part because of my reluctance to orate :( Unless they let you do that via YouTube clips now?
  • I loved the event!
All previous criticisms negated, please disregard
great event, everything was great, even the audience participation
Gary's made people so sad in such a cool way!!
    Also Gary taking a shower

MZ was that skateboard thing a series of videogame glitches or was it art made to look like videogame glitching? I was too embarrassed of my lack of knowledge to ask

I LOVED IT, whichever it was!

  • I don't know if the creator thought he/she was creating "art" when they put it together, but it was definitely an intentional collection of "the funniest glitches".
  • It was funny!
    Also "severed arms" WTFFFFF

after it I said "I feel like a human being couldn't have made that"
  • Post the skateboard glitch thing!
  • I loved last night! Well done, Mark Z. and Gary! I laughed, pondered, and felt uncomfortable. Success!
  • Severed Arms is so bonkers. WHYYYY? I just went to my playlist and one of the videos has been deleted from YouTube. Not sure which one it was, but that means we all watched something that will never be seen again!

  • OH SHIT THAT ONE I LOVE IT SO MUCH

thanks so much to @Log_Gary and @Mark_Zuckerburg for presenting and everyone who came out!
hope to see you next month and please submit ideas for presentations at http://gettingtoknowyoutube.com !!!
  • Were there any great vids shown during the free-for-all? I hadn't eaten dinner, so I left at the intermission.
  • Loved the event, great presentations by all!
  • 3 cheers! I thought about it all day and how good it was!!!!
  • what a night
  • I loved the trajectory of the night!
It started with crazy/inexplicable/unseeable melange, moved onto a very focused presentation by Gary, and ended on a thoughtful and emotional slower program by KK.

Felt like I went on a cool journey.
It gets me so jazzed to watch all of the Youtubes!
  • I really wanted to show this. It's been a favorite for five years. I just love this guy's train of thought. "Are you trying to learn chess from a checkers champion? I'm a chess champion!"

  • "What's their documentation?"

    GREAT CALL!
  • Seriously!

    I have truly duplicated myself.
