Halloween is coming!

edited October 2012
I don't care about Halloween, but whenever I start seeing its iconography in my culture I get excited because it means FALLLLLL

hootin' owls!
crunchin' leaves!
chilly eves!

Do you think it will ever rain again?

  • Rain? What is this "rain?" Doesn't sound familiar to me....

It's time to watch The Worst Witch.

Trick or treat, chick-o-dee, it's halloween for the last time!
  • I'm a hooting owl.

  • I want to watch so many horror movies!
  • BRING ME THE TODDY
  • I want you to drink a toddy out of a little pumpkin.
  • I watched The Crow last night for the first time. It was awful. I wanted it to be better.

What are you going to be for Halloween? I think this year I will be a gumball machine!
  • That is cute. I am going to be Detective Olivia Benson

  • You guys! My four year old nephew has been SO OBSESSED with "spookies" ever since last Halloween, and it just doesn't stop.

I asked him what he is going to be for halloween this year, and he told me excitedly, "A vampire-ghost-goblin-frankenstien-monster-ghoul-witch-zombie-skeleton! And my costume is going to have weapons that fly out of it!"

He's such a boy! And nobody is raising him to be like this! Why are the weapons so exciting? How does he even know the word "weapon?"

Obviously, my sister is a wee bit worried he will be unimpressed with his actual costume this year.
