    I got lightbulbs from the Light Lady... a SELECTION. Because she is all about there is no right or wrong answer... just what you like. Finally realized that every year around October I have an emotional crash that lasts until Feb.+. I only noticed it this year because I have a net increase level in happiness... usually the even-more-down feelings just get lost in the noise. #:-) #s.a.d.vschronicdysthymia
  • Andy is making roasted vegetable soup right now. Seems autumny.
  • I haven't done those things.

    I think its partial autumn. Cool combo. Highs in the low 70s. Clouds for part of the day.

    I picked some apples from my tree.
    Tonight there will be beans, greens and barbecue tempeh.

    Joey does autumn very well

    I like partial autumn! Can still get into your shorts periodically if you like. Still go get those last couple of freckles before the rains set in

    I think this weekend I will make beans and cheese grits

  • if I make tomato sauce with tomatoes that aren't 100% ripe will it taste bad
    some of them are ripe
    some are still a tiny bit hard, though still red and plump
    just seemed like the right thread for asking this
  • It won't be as flavorful as it COULD be, but it won't taste bad, especially if some of them are ripe. Sauce on!
  • Go for it! However slightly unripe your tomatoes are your sauce will taste a million times better than canned sauce (plus, you think they only put premium ripe tomatoes in canned sauce?).

  • What do the cooks think about overripe tomatoes? On the one hand I'm thinking no big deal, they are going to get mooshy when you cook them anyway, on the other hand I'm thinking there's probably a point where they start tasting like boogers (or worse). Seems like it'd be ok if they are too mooshy for salad but still not boogery.

    anja made that "roasted vegetable soup," but when we tasted the end result, it became clear that she had really just made a very good spaghetti sauce.
  • I had an amazing apple coconut cider at Prasad. That place is RULING me lately. Also, I think they like that Agassi and I are dating.
