But I bet there's actual legit ways to do this, like writing blog posts about a specific subject for a tech company or whatever. The Portland company "Simple" was hiring a part-time blogger last month, and they were paying $70 per article. The position isn't up there now, but I bet there are similar opportunities. Responsibilities:
The University of Portland, Oregon’s Catholic university, is seeking an experienced web developer to join its Office of Web & Administrative Systems team in the position of Web Developer.
The University of Portland is guided by the Congregation of Holy Cross, a Roman Catholic religious community. The institution’s mission is anchored in the pillars of teaching and learning, faith and formation, and service and leadership.
The Office of Web & Administrative Systems manages and supports the University’s web application, enterprise resource planning system, and data access and reporting needs. The department serves the University to remove obstacles to access and understand information in support of its mission and vision. The person who fills this full-time position will participate directly in .NET, php, and other web application development efforts to create, maintain, and improve the functionality and relevance of University web resources.
Responsibilities:
•Build dynamic, database-driven web applications and portlets in .NET, php, or other scripting languages with focus on usability, efficiency, and security
•Work through all phases of the web application development lifecycle from initial consulting/ brainstorming to design and development to testing and production integration
•Introduce new web technologies to meet multi-media, mobile, usability and customer service needs
•Design and build SQL databases with close coordination with the DBA
•Analyze and coordinate web analytics to objectively support application efforts
•Work closely with the University community and information services staff
•Document all efforts and processes according to WAS documentation standards
•Operate under tight deadlines while maintaining high standards
•Follow an exemplary standard of customer service and support
Requirements:
The successful candidate should have a 4-year degree in business, computer science, or communication-related studies and a solid, demonstrated technical understanding of data-driven applications, services, and systems. The applicant should have a minimum 2 year’s experience developing web applications and working directly with enterprise web services solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and think on the fly is strongly desired. A strong candidate will demonstrate the ability to work on multiple simultaneous projects as well as with a wide range of personalities.

I'm an office temp and I'm awesome and people always want to keep me! But I gotta make my moves so they know when they snooze.....
For example, there is a receptionist position open for a local news channel that I am all over....
Would be interesting to find a position with both PDX & SEA aspects. (Need to be in SEA three nights a week.)
