    Steve Jobs
  • i used to LOVE those shoes.
  • i used to LOVE those shoes.
  • If you are an office-type job person, it looks like Kaiser is hiring a bunch of "regional registration representatives" - full time, $16.73 - $20.56 an hour, with benefits.
  • HEY ALL

I am newly available to pick up various part-time, one-off, or project-based "gigs" for money! Get this labor while it's HOT!

Obvs. photography, editing images, digital file management, photoshops, light video work, etc.

Also good with office/admin, customer service, food, gardens, boring repetitive tasks, and stuff like that.

    Need a helper? Need a PA? Need a photoshoot? Need a dog-walker?

    I'm your guy!

OWLS, how are you at "undeleting" images off of my SD card? I accidentally "delete all"

UGH it's like my mom's 8 day vacation in Oregon NEVER HAPPENED now.
  • Oh god... that is terrible. I do not know how to fix that- data recovery is something that involves special math and programming, and I've never done it before.

Google it- there are retrieval programs you can download.
  • come make me cupcakes each day
I can pay you in snoopy kisses
  • i'll shake on that!
  • How much do you think this babe charges for pet portraits?
  • ooohhh, good question!

cat or dog? specific pose/setup or just a real nice shot of any kind?

cats are way harder... they just don't give a shit.
  • At some point I will pay you money for a fancy portrait.
    Wearing an ascot
    perhaps a funny hat
    holding a gold-tipped cane
    spats
    "gold leaf" involved somehow

    or

    cardinal robes
  • CAN DO

Your Snoopy is relatively mellow, at times! He is also noble and shiny, will photograph well.
  • You guys, I can take great pictures of your pets for FREE then DELETE them.
  • In exchange for letting us stay at her place, andy took a fancy "medium format" photo of our friend's bird, but when it came back from the lab, it turned out she had framed it so the bird's head was chopped off. PET PHOTO FAIL.
  • Whatever, that is ARTSY. Right?
  • I totally got my photos back! By myself! With the help of the internet. DISK DRILL HACK 4 LIFE.
  • dudes this is weird but gary and I need an extra $500 a month or we are going to "go under."

any ideas? That seems like such a small amount to me, like sub-parttime-job amount, yet I am having trouble thinking of creative ways to attain it.

If you hear of anything weird or if you can think of something let me know. Brainstorm thread.
  • Gary should be a cam boy.
  • he's also a qualified projectionist...I wonder if that's a job
  • Sometimes people make money by selling their soiled undies to creeps on the internet? You could fake-soil them, buy some new undies and then tie them to Snoopy when he gets all muddy?
  • Get paid 2 blog:
    http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/sites-that-pays-you-to-blog/
"PayPerPost is an incredible new self-service marketplace that allows you to get paid to blog about the products, services and websites you love. You can easily earn $500 per month or more with your current blog!"

But I bet there's actual legit ways to do this, like writing blog posts about a specific subject for a tech company or whatever. The Portland company "Simple" was hiring a part-time blogger last month, and they were paying $70 per article. The position isn't up there now, but I bet there are similar opportunities. For example, I bet the writer was paid $70-100 for this post: https://www.simple.com/blog/Economics/the-ins-and-outs-of-campaign-finance-reform/
  • Yeah, that British girl Vicki who was here last year made a living writing weird blog posts for an online Bingo site, to help their search results.
  • this is great guys, thank you!!
i will look for stuff along these lines
maybe start a new blog just for corpo blogging?
    ugh
    cool
    !
  • I am in a similar zone... if I could afford a giant digital SLR I suppose I could do freelance photography? I continue to feel slightly weird but also slightly interested in this...

BUT, I can't get one because I don't have credit cards (woo!), so I am only occasionally available for freelance work! HIRE ME, SOMETIMES!
  • You can totally rent a camera kit for a few days. Book the gig and budget the rental into your fee, girl!
  • areyoufckingkddingme do you know how much those rentals cost?!!!

when I shoot digi I borrow- unless Converse/Nike/Mt. Dew is paying me to shoot there's no way I can charge enough to rent a kit.

DEW, CAN YOU HEAR ME? Do you like pretty pictures of leaves and stuff?

  • Everybody needs muthafuckin devs (including us, come work with me: http://www.shopigniter.com/about-us/careers/ux-developer/) but there's not enough good muthafuckin devs in Portland.

What about office managers and administrative facilitator types. Who needs me?
  • How about pretending to be a webdev? Are there opportunities in the local market?
  • Oh plus I am a licensing expert.... Let me know thx
  • LT - you're right. It's probably out of date. Oops!

But you should check the local universities for office type jobs. Seems like there are a lot of them out there.

I was just ranting about jobs you shouldn't apply for and thinking about who was still looking.
