Sounds like he had brain cancer and chose this way out instead.

Peace dude. Your blue, misty, bird-filled love scenes will be missed.

  • — "The death of Tony Scott is shocking and saddening. He was an inspired craftsman." — Roger Ebert, via Twitter.

  • Dark way to go. There should be better options when you make that choice.
  • That's true.

Seeing his name last night in the end credits of The Grey provoked additional feelings.
  • Watched True Romance last night, in remembrance. Still holds up! I think I watched that movie like a dozen times in the 90s but I hadn't returned to it in a long time. It's really good, and much better than if they had given the budget to Tarantino instead. The Christopher Walken / Dennis Hopper interrogation? Michael Rappaport auditioning for a remake of TJ Hooker? Val Kilmer as Elvis? Gary Oldman as a dreadlocked white pimp asking his body gaurd rhetorically if it's "white boy day?!" Everyone got to chew on all of those good lines so hard!

I'm still in love with Patricia Arquette. (I used to say that all the time until someone told me that she looks like my mom.)
  • That movie rules
Also ruling is THE HUNGER, crazy lesbian softcore vampire blue-lit fantasy starring Bowie, Deneuve, and Sarandon? WTF

Also lets be honest: Top Gun totally rules

My brother went to a Woody Guthrie tribute that Tom Morello was inexplicably a part of, and he said Morello ruined the entire show for all the nice old hippies in the audience and on the stage, like Kris Kristofferson was visibly pained while they were trying to do a full-group "He's Got The Whole World In His Hands" and Morello was just ad-libbing "FUCK THE SYSTEM"s into the mic and leaping around, and to try to really get me to understand what it had been like my bro said Morello was "like a slightly-less over-the-top version of Gary Oldman's character in True Romance" and I laughed so hard for so long
  • OMG DREXEL COSPLAY

  • Just realized I don't think I've ever watched True Romance. I think I confused it with Natural Born Killers and assumed I'd seen it. Fixing that now.
  • Wow, Gary Oldman was great. If you haven't seen "The Firm," I recommend it. It was cool seeing a Tarantino film I hadn't seen before.
