I can't find the lady problems thread

edited June 2012
My friend alerted me to the existence of iPhone apps that can track your periods.

I don't know which app to get, though, as it turns out there are tons. Here's an example I just found:

- Be aware when your woman is craving for sex
- stay alerted during fertile days
- know when to conceive a child
- and more...

For millions of years nature is connecting man and woman but ovulation day was hidden from man. This tiny tool displays information about woman, depending on her female cycle. Once you have entered the current day of her cycle, it always shows you if/when she has her menstruation, when the ovulation is/how probable it is that she gets pregnant.

The basic idea lies in the fact that woman is unique creature involving very complicated processes in her body concerning reproduction processes. As you might already know, there are just a few days in a month when a woman is fertile and may conceive a child. This is a natural period of month when female is looking for male, where hormonal influence is of most domination in process of search of a partner.

...This app will help you to more successfully plan vacatin or a surprise trip to the aqua-park or lake without limiting coincidences. Using this tiny app you will be able to track, predict, avoid and be the man in right place at right time.

Good Luck!!!
Period app FOR MEN TO USE. We are now officially in the post-feminist era (not really). Also I've been with my partner for 10 years and never once has he planned a surprise trip to the aqua-park, what a rip-off!

Comments

  • I know a lady who uses p tracker lite
  • I use iperiod. It's ok.
  • I like how the seller of the app implies that it could be useful for getting someone to sleep with you who doesn't already. "Hey.... periods suck, you really don't have to worry about me not understanding, sister. I keep Midol at my desk, so whenever you have the first day of your period, just ask me for some!"
  • all the apps are such hideous barfs of pink and flowers and little winking cupcake icons for when you're gaining weight! ARRRGH! I want a real cold scientific chart, I don't want an animated flower that blooms when I start shedding my uterine lining
  • Somebody pull Marcus in here. This is a hot app idea!
  • The one andy uses is called Lily.
  • that one's 6.99!!!!!!!!!! ARE YOU CRAZY
  • It just seemed like it was the best combination of good features without being overly girly looking. I read a bunch of reviews of different apps before I recommended it to her. Sometimes you just gotta shell out some app money. Definitely try the free ones first.
  • Pay the money @YoursTruly, you are worth it!
  • I want to design an app for this with one of you nerds. I know exactly what it needs to be like! MORE CHARTING CAPABILITIES. Ability to overlay charts on top of one another--oh, look, I have my worst acne when I'm at my highest BBT, etc.

Some nerd make this with me!!!!!!!
  • Can it have a lunar calendar
  • YES
I did find one app that was based on the lunar calendar but it had no charts either and all the user reviews said it kept deleting all their stored data
  • Is there one that tells me when Shrimp is about to go into Retrograde so that I know when my life is going to suck?
  • 7 bucks for an app you use all the time sounds like a good deal to me. Cheaper than a book or a movie!

My wife uses Period Tracker and loves it, but it does show tree limbs and flowers when you're fertile.
  • ok you guys talked me into it
  • Excited to see your charts. (HAHA YEAH RIGHT)
  • yeah you wish!
my cervical mucus is known to me alone

you guys, PMS, seriously, can we discuss?

I've never had it that bad, but lately it's been just slaying me.
Like a full 2 weeks before onset of period
    weird ghost cramps
    terrible boob pain
    irritability/sorrow/rage
    weird bloaty feelings
    indigestion/heartburn
    nightmares

what are your PMS tricks? I'm on a very intense herbal regiment and I can't tell if it is helping. involves like macca root, wild yam, and your usual dong quai/raspberry leaf stuff. Also periodic (I am forgetful about it) evening primrose, should I be doing that twice a day or what?

Giving up all alcohol and caffeine for 2 weeks before the period is supposed to help, but jesus christ, it's like you're devoting your whole life to managing your dumb 2 day period. WTF

any cool tips? PMS TIPS, talking high school problems!
  • I don't think I have ever had PMS. Could that be true?
    Alternatively, I have chronic dysthymia so I wouldn't notice hormonal flux. B - )
    #nothelpful
  • totally could be true
I never had it until recently. Only cramps DURING. I never really understood the whole "pre" concept until this year. It is terrible! The period when she finally comes is now experienced as a huge relief.
    yuck
  • Boo!
I sympathize deeply- just two days of deep sadness and intense water retention are too much for me. Two weeks?!! I wish I knew what to do! Go to a hippie doctor? Poor YT.
  • Yeah, whenever I find myself crying over stupid piddly stuff I think to myself, "must be almost time". My crampage is brutal but thankfully only shows up the first few days.
  • my adventures with what appears to be peri-menopause continue. I'm basically a 15 year old again, "down there." Back to the years of being caught totally off guard by epic floods / slayed by crampage / mild crying for no reason

but here's a question--can a really really really intense massage bring your period on early? I know there are pressure points in the ankles that can do it, but what about other body parts getting super whaled on by a lady with insanely strong hands? do you think this could bring on your period?

a full week early! And to the max--I'm typing this in bed.
  • I totally think that is possible!

I have gotten my period immediately after getting off the massage, and especially the acupuncture table repeatedly. In my case, the period was not early, but I'd be like a couple days late and cranky and bloated and not bleeding and out of it and then boom. Witchcraft.

Also, it's possible that you are just experiencing irregularity (which would make sense with peri-menopause, right?), it would explain your feeling of being fifteen again "down there". When your hormones act up, you have both irritability and irregularity.

Repeating the thing I always say, go to an acupunturist! It will change your life! Go now especially! It hurst a bit more when you are menstruating, but it also works incredibly well.
  • Remember YT, you were one of the people who kept insisting that I go see an acupuncturist years ago. I kept postponing and now I am in love with it.
