Scientology used to seem like a scam to me when they were just taking your money and filing your confessions away for blackmail purposes. But now that they have this amazing tech dojo for transforming you into a superhuman, it kind of seems worth it.
"Members are not allowed to leave the property without permission, and if they do go AWOL, they are tracked down by military-style teams who are allowed to inflict emotional or physical punishment, ABC News reports.
Former Scientology security chief Gary Morehead said he has hunted down at least 100 people who have tried to escape the organization in his 13 years there."
You sign a billion-year contract!!! You owe them money if you ever escape!
"When I was 9, my mother got transferred to Los Angeles. Our family moved into a rundown apartment, and my public-school days were over. Instead I went to Cadet School, a training school for the Sea Org, where I learned the basics of reading, writing, and math, but had no classes in subjects like history or geography. After school, I worked for hours in the basement of the Sea Org offices, filing papers and doing other organizational tasks. I often stayed there overnight with my fellow students, sleeping on cots. "
"Early on in my new job, I had to sit down with a man in his 40s who had admitted to masturbating, and tell him to cut it out. I was 15 years old. "
She finally escaped by GETTING PREGNANT, which is not allowed.
recent story about the kid in australia that agreed to be a part of the sea org at the age of 8, and was then worked to the bone until he escaped at the age of 20 having never seen the internet, television, etc in a work camp outside of sydney
I feel like it wouldn't be legal if anyone actually investigated/knew about it, right? It's child labor, it's child neglect, it's not sending kids to school, etc. All illegal! I feel like they are so rich and so high profile with celebrities that nobody takes seriously the idea that it is actually an illegal fucked-up brainwash child abuse cult which is itself very fucked
not to mention that lady who had a psychic break and jumped out of her car on the road in LA and was begging passersby for help but because they don't believe in psychiatry two guards who had been following her jumped out and grabbed her and took her to a weird room where she died eating her own hair. And no one ever got in trouble.
I often go deep with the Scientology links and then I fantasize about breaking kids out of that school in Oregon. But they probably don't want to leave, and then what about parents who somehow don't know it's a Scientology school?
I think Beck is locked in tight, he's still married to the other Ribisi...so sad.
Man, the renderings look amazing. I'm really struck by how removed from fashions they are, like everyone involved is deeply culturally scientologist. Do you all know what I mean? It's like the architecht is clear, the furniture designer is clear, the designer of finishes and materials is clear. The whole thing is so styled out so as to look like nothing else. It seems really deliberate, especially considering the technology they use... I mean it's obvious the machines are just for show, right? They measure somethin, but what they measure sure isn't important. What is important is that they intimidate by looking magical. It's probably not even the world's most advanced exercise equipment.
Also I love how much desk space there is. You are looking at all the tables and you realize, they really don't work with computers. They just need table space for their special papers and dials.
I'm just saying, if you push away all the mumbo jumbo it's purpose is just to consciously re-experience painful or traumatic events in your past in order to free yourself of their limiting effects. It's about personal freedom. And no drugs. And aliens. And sea org. But mostly freedom. Not like, you can do what you want, but more like, you won't be haunted by demons (who are actually aliens).

Scieno Sitter is a term coined by critics of the Church of Scientology to refer to a content-control software package created by the organization, which, when installed on a computer, blocks certain Web sites critical of Scientology from being viewed.[1][2] Critics assert that the program is a form of internet censorship.[1][2]
"By popular demand from Scientologists, a program has been developed to prevent you from being subjected to 'entheta' and hate mail on the Internet. This filter allows you direct access to our sites rapidly, without being dev-t'ddev't[›] by vilifying material, forgeries, and hate messages. In this fashion your attention can remain focused on dissemination and setting people's feet on the Bridge to Total Freedom."
It's easy to make fun of Scientology but... we only know about them because they are successful, and they are only successful because the organization is based on America's favorite values. Therefore, let us embrace them into our hearts and minds, as we have our own favorite American values. God bless
"... the total number of people who identify as Scientologists is just 25,000 in this country of more than 300 million human beings." village voice article
Truly shows the power of a small group of dedicated people and what can happen with crowd-funding.
I feel that deeply though that's legit weird modern-world-influenced religion!!! Like does that mean in 1,000 years when there are no more races, Babylon will still be white society? If so what will that even mean

I read that utterly epic New Yorker piece on scientology awhile ago but don't remember The Hole

OBAMA SHOULD BE LIKE "IMMA SHUT DOWN SEA ORG BEEYATCHES"
If Romney said he was going to shut down Sea Org I'd probably vote for him, honestly.
