edited June 2012
The E3 show this week - http://www.e3expo.com/- has gone through a cycle of insiders to party and back to insiders in the gaming world. There will be a slew of new releases and this is one: Watch Dogs - a first person hack the city scenario.
Backstory:
Gameplay:
(Unfortunately it turns into a shooter game later in the demo rather than strategy, we will see what the future holds)
Any other standouts or comments?

  • Super violent! Geez. The little Juno friend is a funny aspect.

I would watch you play this game, Mike. I like spectating when it comes to games.

Nintendo's showing seemed kinda weak! I wish they would give Metroid another shot. My favorite weird alien planet isolation game is still Super Metroid. What happened to disembodied brains as bad guys? Why did Castlevania start being bad and why don't they fix that? Same with Contra, F-zero, and Mega Man. Why is there not a new amazing Zelda game every 6 months? Doesn't it feel like the right time for a new Mike Tyson's punch out? Pokemon? Star Fox? Double Dragon? Battletoads?

  • I respectfully disagree!

Let's not keep making sequels... let's get NEW games!
  • NEW Zeldas.
  • I would rather see good sequels than bad writing, boring mythologies, and lame stories. If you can't write a good new story, use a good old story!

I would totally be cool with awesome new titles. I would just have more faith in Nintendo if they could get their classic stuff right first. Nintendo used to be so good at making titles for themselves. Now it seems like there is just a couple of new Zeldas and Pikman and sometimes they come out with a cool Mario game. Capcom and Square used to make tons of great games for Nintendo too, and they seem to have lost their way. Also, I understand that Nintendo is trying to be universal with their gaming appeal, but I think they accomplished that, and it's time to start making some games for adults again. Also, the rumor is you can only use one of those new controllers at a time, and that is sorta lame. I really think they should have gone for full out holograms.
  • The Last Of Us reminds me of The Road a little bit. Awesome. I would also watch Mike play this game, but I wouldn't play it myself because the controllers in these postmodern times are just way too complicated for me.
