Return of iCal App Q

edited June 2012
This issue still haunts the productivity of the office of Portland's largest employer.

On the iPad/iPhone, there is no native way to open different types of files from emailed appointments, except for pdfs.

If anyone knows what I mean, what is your workaround?

  • Can they be opened in Google Docs on the iPhone?

That is a great call that would solve my practical dilemma.

Part of the scenario is... the people I work with could not imagine such a scheme.
An app would need to do it automatically.

Thank You to all with a solution
  • The Pages app will open .doc and .xls files, I think.
  • Where is Sarah McDoogan when you need her?!
  • Thanks for the suggestion--I think Pages used to open both. doc and .xls, but now they have "Numbers" for .xls. The economy, you know...
  • For the record.... it turns out that the real problem is that the iOS doesn't let you "park" documents in appointments the same way as with Outlook.
