wreck your house

edited June 2012
After a little discussion with RCH I yanked all my heavy furniture around tonight in order to procrastinate doing the real things I need to get done. REALLY OPENED THE PLACE UP.

Now my place looks like I just moved in. Going to take some fine tuning, but it's nice to move stuff around.

Comments

  • My mom used to do this a lot and it traumatized me.
  • I love to do this every few weeks. Freshen up your mind.
  • Would be interesting to see how this relates to our Meyers-Briggs scores.
  • I like to do it too! Like giving yourself a new house, every few months.
  • We're doing this in the basement! Only it's because of the flooding!

    (Don't worry, no real damage).
  • For the record, Zuck... we have the same INFP type but I love changing it up.
  • for like a week after you rearrange it is exciting to come home. Knowing you will walk into a brand new house. Honestly, rearranging can sometimes even give you different habits. I never did yoga at home until I created a space in front of a window that was for yoga, then I did it all the time. Or like maybe you create a nook that calls to you with such coziness that you start writing in a journal, just because you're inspired by the space, whereas you never used to do such things.

Another example. We used to always eat dinner while watching a movie. This was nice, but sometimes the habitual, mindless nature of it stressed us out. Now our TV is in the bedroom, which is not a place we want to eat. Now we never eat dinner watching it, and instead we eat dinner sitting at the table and talking about our thoughts and feelings, and it is awesome.

    What are thoughts and feelings?

    Sounds confusing.

    (Now I'm hungry.)
