i tried commenting on one of your advice posts but it didn't work. i got back some error message with a bunch of garbly goop. FYI

    Also, the Honeymoon Nightmare post is supposed to have "1 Comment" but when you go to the page, there are no comments at all.

    If this is the advice problem page, maybe there should be some sort of anonymous question form, so people can ask questions without emailing?

    Looks to be a problem with the akismet comment spam prevention plugin. I'll take a look into it after work.

    just tried, and got a error message back saying it was a duplicate comment?

    maybe comments have to be reviewed before posting? but nothing is warning of that- just getting error messages.

    I do sometimes have to review comments before they show up. This is to prevent trolls and spam. So sometimes it might be a real error, and other times it might just be waiting for my approval.

    Hey Big Mac, can you try commenting on another blog and see if you're getting the same "duplicate comment" error? I've been able to comment successfully, but I want to make sure it's not just me.

    Same goes for other folks - please try leaving a comment on a couple different blogs and report back here if you're encountering errors?

    I rebooted the MySQL container too. Just in case that helps. (which was the case with the other issues)

    (and oh yeah, the comment finally was published!)

    I will only not approve if a comment is just blatant assholery

    so i think the "problem" was that when I first submitted my commit it went to moderation, but no such warning was presented to me- it was as if nothing actually happened. so i hit 'post comment' again, and that is when i got the error message speaking to the double post.

    i am surprised that a 'your message is being held for approval' message did not come up. that would have solved everything! (except the problem of the person who was seeking advice)
