  • I have a meeting with a dude for a kind of weird job at 3pm. Not a dream job, but could pay the bills.

Suggestion: Don't wear your transcranial direct-current stimulator (tDCS) to your initial interview.
  • Trader Joe's shopping trip
    Did dishes and laundry
Doctor's appt (1st one in like 10 years!)
  • mom visits this weekend.
    cleaning everything.
  • I think my meeting went well. I actually worked the tDCS into the conversation in honor of DrJ. I was talking about the 2020 blog and used it as an example.

    Smooth.
  • Oh, beautiful weekend!
To sleep in, with a slight hangover, and have a very late breakfast!

I wanna go to the movies this weekend. Clean the house a little, work on stuff. Small goals.
  • Some of those goals were accomplished!
  • They were!

    EVERYBODY GO SEE WANDERLUST!
  • IT SOUNDS LIKE THERE IS A DYING ZOMBIE IN MY APARTMENT BUILDING RIGHT NOW! WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT NOISE??? OMG
  • Update: the noise went away, but WHAT WAS THAT?
  • classic apartment building mystery!!!
  • Speaking of apartment buildings... I love my apartment. I like how if there is a weird noise I know what it is because I can probably see it. I was at my parents house this weekend and there alone for a while, and if there was a noise it was like, "THAT COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THIS GIANT HOUSE!" There is a real sense of control in an apartment.
  • Except for the fact that you're surrounded by tons of OTHER apartments, none of which you have access to!!!!!!

that is the true sorrow of apartment living
  • What? I love the security of an apartment. One of many! A house feels so isolated and easy to target. An apartment building feels more like a herd of antelope. Yeah, the lions are gonna take one of you down, but odds are good it's not going to be you!
  • Today I did a voice acting audition, which is my dream job. Felt like it went well.

Didn't get that other job I interviewed for, but he might hire me to shoot some videos in the future.

Is anyone going to the film screening at Hollywood tonight?

Inner Space & Outer Space: 16mm Experimental Films from Los Angeles

I feel like I am less and less likely as the day progresses...
  • I met the dudes doing the screening tonight, sounds like they have some really cool gems to show. Everyone should go!
  • I reaaaaally want to, but The Bachelor finale is tonight, and that a crucial element of the verdugo anniversary night.

If you haven't seen films by the Whitney brothers, GO!
  • SO ROMANTIC!

Happy Banniversary, Verdugos! I hope Ben doesn't pick Courtney, but we all know he will.
  • I'm going to that screening! With Gary and Gary's Wife and maybe others.
Planning on going tomorrow night too.
  • Well, that changes everything. No sarcasm. For real. Game changer.

If you three want to pop by beforehand I will feed you a beer-candied apple.
  • I feel so alone in the world because I actually like Courtney. She's always making jokes and dumb noises and stuff, which is more like a person that I would get along with. She has interpersonal problems, but I think she gets condemned as EVIL when she's really just awkward.

    >>There is a real sense of control in an apartment.

Yes!! I am an apartment native myself and I will always think that houses are 100% creepy.
Plus you have to pay for everything in a house, which I can't believe everyone doesn't get what a scam that is.

Back to a house for me! Basements full of crap! Lawn-mowing! Dandelions!
  • Voice acting! Yesss! Good luck Marc!
  • The psychedelic films were good!
The beer candied apple was good!
    The company was good
    the pizza was good
which was better us or the pizza
    the pizza
    you guys
    the pizza
    you guys

I agree about apartment feeling safer than house. I was merely saying that in terms of "what is that weird noise it's driving me crazy," it's more frustrating in apartment building because you have no access to all the parts of the building where the noise could be coming from.

  • I am helping make a kids record! We did a version of Cat Stevens' "Sing Out" in the style of huggy bear.

So so so nice to be recording again, I have missed it so much.

If you have kids, I'll send you a copy when we finish it.
  • Send to me, for my students!! I sing "Sing Out" with them on the daily.
  • The psychedelic films were very good!

I wish to never live in an apartment. I live in the WEST for a reason.
  • Yeah, exactly. I left the apartments in NY.
  • (apartments are better)
  • love my house and my yard!

LOOOOVE not hearing my neighbors' pumping bass/television/yapping dog/argument/fucking/whatever 24/7

  • (we love a lot of things that are bad for us. like the fries of the french. that doesn't mean they are better.)
  • LIKE WIENERS
  • houses are like cemeteries. Bad use of land.
  • I really love my apartment. Except for the weird zombie noises the other night, it's one of the quietest places I've ever lived. The bills are effing cheap. I use very little electricity and natural gas. But would love a yard, obvi! Hopefully my next place will be a nice little 2 bedroom bungalow.
  • I'm not anti-house. A lot of my good friends live in houses. But there is an optimism about a well designed modern apartment complex that I like very much.

I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here in this 100 year old cube in downtown Seattle. It's interesting to see different people in your hallways every day. Love being in the thick of the towers and by the sea.

Today: Delicious habitual semi-toxic corporate anti-union Starbucks flesh sandwich and third world plantation juice in the Seattle Municipal Tower. Getting ready to Skype with partners in Italy. Meet g-friend's train and shuttle to Dr. Update resume to protect personal inbound distribution channels of semi-toxic flesh and plantation juice.
  • I think the best possible scenario would be apartment in the city and a house out in the woods/desert/coast.

Classic Town & Country. Earl of Grantham!
  • Definitely the best possible scenario is being the Earl of Grantham
  • Hot damn, it's a beautiful day. Too bad I'm hungover, and haven't done my taxes, and brought work home with me this weekend!
    FML
    I <3 SPRING!
  • I'm working too, real hard, but soon I will at least walk Mr. Snoopy.
Working on a sunny day! This is why I love the rain--it's easier to work!
but damn if this sun don't feel nice
  • MOVING

    packing everything up
    cleaning the house
dropping things off at Goodwill & the dump
    getting in the car
    leaving

    goodbye forever, Portland
  • Walked to the library and back.
  • Where you goin KOAC?
  • Bye KOAC!

May your battles with Ganon always end in victory!!!!!!!
  • Back at the hippie ranch with mom and g-mom. The rainstorm knocked down a lot of timber and I'm here for a couple of days clearing trails between the out buildings.

    Good stout work!
