Thatch

edited October 2011
I'm at Thatch, earning bonus miles and enjoying life. Show up in the 15 minutes and I'll buy you a drink. I'm the handsome one wearing a green tie.

1: Just based on what seems to always happen after Thatch.
  • I went! He bought me a drink! We ate cashews and talked Tiki.

It's not a bad bar. The drinks, in the style of tiki*, are very sweet. But I got a Dark & Stormy and that is a great drink. Plus they have a rum selection, which is not something you usually see. I think the hangovers come from drinking there on the weekends.

*There is a statue triptych of a polynesian god eating a baby behind the bar. No joke. He eats a baby.

What else would you have that Tiki god eat*, Mike?

He is a Tiki god. Eating babies is his JOB!

    Geez!

    *"Slam"
  • The owner of Thatch participated in the Laurelhurst neighborhood garage sales this summer; his home is full of Vespa art. I bought several records from him for $1 each.

He was also selling a wall-length photograph of a raw chicken breast display from an old grocery store for $700.
  • A good bar for getting business done.

  • if your business is getting trashed on umbrella drinks

Getting trashed on umbrella drinks is a prerequisite to getting business done. Deals are easier to sign after umbrella drinks and it's too dim to read the fine print.
  • Let me know next time. This time I was in the midst of something else. (I forget what exactly, I just know I came home and saw this thread)
  • Tonight we are drinking whiskey at MKRM to celebrate the expanding business.
  • Thatch made me throw up once! It was me and one other dude, and one of those VOLCANO BOWLS, the worst idea. But we felt fun and giddy in that scary little hut in the back for about an hour, right before I puked. Lots of Tiki-Jazz, sometimes it feels too hot in there. My first URHO post, yay!
  • Oh hai, RyRy.
  • Hayyyyy.
  • I think Thatch causes more puking than your average bar, but I suspect that is the fault of the drinker, not the pourer. :)
  • Welcome RyRy
  • Thanks Lois(Lane) XxX
