The soothing voices of Steve and Mike return to your life to help you focus on business and culture and feel like you have friends.

New theme song! Season 2 has a new vibe that is summed up with the song World of Regret by Ford & Lopatin (vimeo). The future is now. BANTER: If you are old enough, you can go to John Helmer‘s haberdashery. Steve was running merch for an unnamed band, basically setting up a pop-up shop each night and spreading the joy of using Square.

Musical break featuring the soothing sounds of DJ Douggpound. (And make sure to subscribe to Conversations by Gary Lacrosse on iTunes.)

Coffee talk and the role Starbucks will play in your life when you leave paradise. While back at home there is some concern about the local coffee scene. Mike says that the Stumpy story will not matter in three months (14AUG11).

Musical break with Paul McCartney from the 1979 album Back to the Egg.

Back my popular Dew-mand: An update concerning beverages, pops, sodas, spritzers, teas, bottled coffees and news from the beverage world. Specifically Sun Drop. Mike has a hard time saying “Dr. Pepper Snapple Group“.

Then it’s time for Mellow Yellow, which sounds as good as they want you to think the soda tastes. FUN FACT: Paul McCartney can be heard as one of the background revelers on this track.

Mike and Steve return from the song recording outside in order to smoke a cigar, but it’s a bit windy, so they have some trouble getting them lit. TREND OF THE WEEK: Greek Yogurt! And also #money.

Final song is a mystery we will reveal at a later date.

The show was a discussion of Cedar Rapids history with a roundtable of local Iowans, informed by a 62-page dossier on the city of Cedar Rapids compiled by Gary Lacrosse. Gary compiled the dossier in reaction to the recently released film “Cedar Rapids,” which he feels misrepresents the city, chiefly by implying that Cedar Rapids, rather than Des Moines, is the hub of the insurance industry in the state of Iowa.

Unfortunately, Gary is still unable to respond to emails. Last week, he checked himself into a rehab clinic. Don’t worry. He’s not an addict. Gary just always thought that “rehab” was the Arabic word for “Turkish spa.” When he arrived at the clinic he decided, “Well this is already paid for so Better make it count!” (- Gary to me in email). He’ll be staying at the clinic for the next month, and the show will be on hiatus until he returns. So far, it sounds like from Gary that the people at the clinic are really nice, and he’s even getting the occasional “non-professional” massage.

A caller calls in to discuss the actor Ronald Reagan’s illustrious career acting in Hollywood motion picture films.

The sun is old.

How old is too old?

Special guest Eric Asboe is interviewed and trippyness happens in regards to dreams.

Richard is quizzed about the entymology of phrases that feature the word OLD, such as OLD HAT, OLD FASHIONED, OLD SCHOOL, and OLDE.

Gary Lacrosse’s new Podcast, “Conversations,” continues with co-hosts Andrew and Richard. The conversation is about walking. Richard still uses a Discman when he walks around, and it has a maximum bass booster. Andrew insists it has ESP.

Richard determines Wednesday is the least important day of the week. Andrew offers Tuesday as an alternative based on Wednesday being known as “Hump Day.”

The letter “L.”

Gary is not able to be on the show due to weather conditions, but Richard and Andrew begin the conversation about walking. Richard insists that walking will maintain relevancy even in the face of alien technology.

Richard chooses to ignore football and seems ignorant of sports. Andrew discusses tips for “walking the dog.” Step 2: Keep Trying.

Special guest Hannah Frank calls in and first explains that “walking the dog” is a euphemism for masturbation used in the first episode of Dawson’s Creek. Richard and Andrew then ask Gary’s questions (as he is snowed in) regarding Hannah’s attempt to solve her ‘NGR’ problem. What is cartoons/cartons? Do you think Eisenstein was right? Why a mouse? How are you going to animate this? (Hannah gets angry.) Does your husband support you?

Can you “walk the dog” the circumference of the earth? Richard offers a new conceptual aspect to the classic yo-yo trick.

A discussion of parkour and being mindful of your walking environment. Richard and Andrew are happy that no one else called in, and then move on to Richard’s horoscope (his birthday is Dec 17th) which is about his boring chores and active mind.
