Mathew Day Jackson channels the Northwest

In Paradise NOW! Mathew Day Jackson’s vision of a post-apocalyptic earth hews closely to the spirit of the Northwest. Our endless pride in our national forests, and the history of our dependednce on the logging industry are evidenced in not only the material choice, but also in the reverence shown to it. I emerged from the exhibition with the distinct impression of a modern interpetation of totem art and the need to convey a warning that all is not okay in the world.
