I’ve been having an amazing email exchange with David Galli about his apology project. As my regular readers know, I am a Chronic Confessor. In my search for Perfect Heart, for transparency and weightlessness, I feel that I must constantly unburden myself. To an obnoxious, neurotic level. I like David’s project because it recognizes that need for release- sort of like PostSecret, only more direct.
Since I have been feeling very murky and heavy lately, I feel that I must make a mass, general apology:
***I am sorry for not being an available/attentive friend, daughter, date, classmate and blogger.***
This round of classes ends on Thursday, and everything will be mellower after that.
Love and love and love to you all!

No need to be so hard on yourself! Friends support each other. Go Willow!
the best you can do is all you can do, and you do it better than anyone i know.
there is a project kind of similar to this one where people send in secrets they have never told anyone to this dude, there was a feature on it in either the new york times or the philly paper a few weeks back. here is the website: http://postsecret.blogspot.com/
That’s a really cool website – it almost made me cry to leave my apology there. My good friend, who I’m apologizing to ran away from her Muslim home when she was 21. I have no idea where she is.
Also:
I’m sorry I leave a fake email address every time I post.
Don’t overlook David’s counterpoint site, the Thank You Project (http://www.urbanhonking.com/we'/archives/1979/02/thank_you_proje.html). As nice as it is to get it off your chest, sometimes it’s even nicer to give kudos where kudos are due. At least, it is for me.
Thank you Willow! Thanks, everybody. That PostSecret site is amazing. I think that the Apology Project will probably evolve in a slightly different direction than that, but we shall see.
Please feel free to give me input about it (click my name below to do so). I’ll also be trying to figure out how to curate the page.
I’ll do my best.
And I can’t help but agree with Emily!
You’re already doing great, David.
European, you can’t feel guilty about telling your friend to follow her heart. For all you know she could be doing something amazing right now. Running away is okay sometimes.
Also, great call Emily. The thank you project is totally awesome too. Go David!
