Let us all pause in our relentless movie watching and give thanks for the official legal unioning of our dear beloved co-blogstress Jessica, and Matt, her long-term man friend and father of her tiny crawling baby. Two lovely people made another lovely person! Now they have “sealed the deal,” by which I mean that Matt has “put a ring on it.” *
It was a beautiful ceremony, in what Jessica describes as “a gross room in the basement of city hall.” The wedding was planned that morning, and cost $100 including parking. Everyone was beaming beatifically and in the photos I have seen the happy couple look positively aglow, gazing with love at one another, dressed in all their finery, their small human child hanging betwixt them more heavy and real than any diamond ring could ever hope to be. Afterward I believe cookies were eaten.
I am so happy for my friend and her family. They have had a good life together and I know they will continue to, as these dreadful years keep rolling by.
Congratulations to my blog-sister! She is mademoiselle no longer.
