1. Henri Cartier-Bresson: The Impassioned Eye
About three years ago, maybe when I very-first got Netflix, I put about 200 movies on my cue right away, and right now I am hitting a spate of them–art documentaries and Brando films. The art docs always get pushed further down because I am always doing stuff like putting Due Date at the top of the queue, bumping it. But I let this one come up because even though it’ll likely take me a week (ok, three) to get around to it because it is not dumb and tantalizing, because I want to be inspired and feel like there is something I do (still) that is artistic and b/c I have 3 books of the dudes work and know almost nothing.
2. Scarface
Never seen it. I like to be way behind the zeitgeist. Violent movies are way harder to watch now that I am a mom. We will see if I can take it.
3. White Material
Even when I don’t like a Claire Denis movie, I appreciate the pace, the solemn reprieve.
