NOTES ON DOG SITTING

I have been baby-caring and pet-walking Pete’s puppy this weekend, despite the fact that I do not particularly like dogs, unless they are A. Jack Russell Terriers or B. somehow related to Ezra. Pete’s dog is cute and sweet, tho, and more importantly EXTREMELY WELL TRAINED.
NOTES.
– I’ve discovered walking dogs is a little bit like being a smoker – you meet a whole bunch of people you’d never know otherwise just because you have a shared public activity. Unfortunately, none of those people were cute dudes, but I did become acquainted with a nice dalmatian and a shitload of extra-Brooklyn Italian moms.
– Men AND women: flip flops in public are NEVER, EVER OK. Unless you’re at the beach. So tacky. Flip flops in public while walking a dog: you are dead to me.
-As a quasi-suburb, Carroll Gardens’ courtyard Halloween decorations game is incomparably focused. Best: ghoulish hands coming out of a pine tree like there’s a monster in there.
-The dog sitting was interspersed with an idyllic autumn Bronx Zoo visit. Tiny monkeys with people faces and mohawks are my favorite animals. Sorry Mookie.
