THE MEN WHO OWN YOUR UTERUS.
“The government may use its voice and its regulatory authority to show its profound respect for the life within the woman,” wrote Justice Anthony M. Kennedy.
In her dissent, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg said this decision “cannot be understood as anything other than an effort to chip away at a right declared again and again by this court — and with increasing comprehension of its centrality to women’s lives.”

I know – this ruling is so infuriating. We’re in for trouble with this Supreme Court…

BTW, I heard an interesting interview with an NYU OB/GYN this morning on The Brian Lehrer Show — http://www.wnyc.org/shows/bl/episodes/2007/04/19#

in her dissent she quotes lawrence v. texas, Kennedy’s ferocious and eloquent defense of the right to be gay… “Though “[f]or many persons [objections to homosexual conduct] are not trivial concerns but profound and deep convictions accepted as ethical and moral principles.”
    Too bad.

and obgyns are actually just ‘abortion doctors,’ and a fetus is sometimes a ‘baby.’ Kennedy is supposed to be the one who saves us, who becomes more moderate as the Court moves to the right. It’s the moderates who are supposed to protect abortion: Blackmun and O’Connor. When Blackmun left the Court, he left knowing that the right to choose would be left intact in the hands of Sandra Day, she left it for Kennedy and he disappoints. sad sad sad.
