Theee best band in Portland, Orygone, Nice Nice, who use one guitar drumset and 59,000 pedals to sound like Timbaland and Neu’s jam band in 2052, have A SONG IN A PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS AD.
In less interesting news, my old housemate Connie and I have pix in the back of the Adidas/XLR8R DJ book Bedroom Rockers. We are helping the editor, designer and photographer of the book to do keg stands. Enabling, essentially. More famously, there is a full photo spread of Hua‘s apartment and crates in there. They have privileged us to his set-up and I’m starry-eyed.
But hey, how about the Blazers’ music director? I mean, last year they booked the All-Girl Summer Fun Band at halftime. Not my fave twee on the planet, but at least Tag Team got a coffee break.

I must confess I am responsible for the music in the blazer ads. BLAZERS! in addition to the bands listed above, nomadic noize and libretto are also featured. Portland has so so many great bands. I want them to paid for their hard work. Last year I also convinced nike to pay pj harvey a lot of ducats for a song in a marion jones commercial, though I don’t know if they ever ran it. props to you + connie wohnstein helping with the kegstands. with the book now everyone will even more think eli and I are married (brother and sister people, not gf/bf, NOT MARRIED…no wonder I get no play) hope you are over your sickness.

If people who paid to make commercials were smart they’d make them downloadable. I’d download all those Blazers ads, and they are paying big money to show them to me, and I want to watch them for free!

wow, that was totally worth the excruciatingly slow dial-up buffering speeds for that hot dog surprise at the end.
and furthermore…i think i used to live on that street.
blazers are in town next monday. will i be there? i certainly hope so…i mean, if they can’t beat the bulls, what chance do they have?

Why does a(n) (in)famous basketball team need to advertise in the first place?
    …Anyone?

  8. Steve Schroeder says:

They have to advertise because over the last 3 years their ticket sales and diminished a bunch. They used to sell out every game now they average about 75% attendance. They have bad public image so they make commercials of the dudes hanging out iwth regular Portlanders to make them look nice.

I love your article and I installed your hack. Thank you very much for this. I did notice that you have if statements and only if statements. The hack whould not install properly in my header until I added a if statement. Then, all was very cool. I am installing this on every messageboard I control which is a sizable number. Again, thank you.
