ghosts and snow flakes

Ironton, Colorado, on top of Red Mountain pass (elevation 11018 ft). The town was bustling with miners in the late 1800s/early 1900s, and apparently was inhabited by at least one elderly man until he passed away in the 1960s.

Back in high school I used to go prowl around irontown with some friends. It’s creepy, silent and surreal, especially with the blanket of snow that covers red mountain eight months out of the year.
Beautiful photos…they make me miss SW colorado.
