it is pretty clear that the “inherent flaw” you mention, was not a flaw but entirely intentional. the piece was seamless, well executed and stylish. this criticism is like saying – why didn’t they hide all the “service pipes” at the pompidou? these people are blatantly not lazy.
oh. and the french dig – i think some people in france like it too and i don’t think there own language sounds “artsy and cool” to them.

And it’s totally awesome that you left feeling better than when you arrived. If art of any medium can accomplish just that for an individual than it’s a success on the most fundamental of levels.
My critigue is aimed at what I feel to be a simple
lack of effort on the authors of the show. Simply put I would have enjoyed more direction, more choreography throughout the performance. I am a stickler for intentionality, as it’s far too convenient to be lazy these days in my opinion. Nonetheless, the seed for an interesting experience is indeed there, however some refining and a little foresight can really go a long way.
And yes, I will consent that the moment he lit the fuse was quite funny.
cheers!

I was there too and really enjoyed it. And yes – there was more going on onstage than you could take in at once, but that was not due to a ‘lack of intent’ but was the form they were going for. It’s ok if you didn’t like that form, but the lack of a spotlight telling you which way to point your face at any given time isn’t an ‘inherent flaw.’
Also – when that guy pulled out what looked very much like an improvised explosive device and lit the fuse (a very real fuse) it scared the crap out of me! Hello my name is shrapnel face!
Overall I thought the show was really sweet, I left feeling a lot better than I arrived.
