return of dog drugs
tour has been fucking crazy. van started fucking up around DC on thursday, we drove to baltimore got it looked at on friday, they couldnt fix it so we got a rental and drove to phil, borrowed a bunch of gear last minute, played a show, hung out, woke up, drove it back to baltimore, our van still not fixed, got a bigger rental, drove to new york, pulled up to mercury lounge at 830 on saturday, got a ticket for talking on the cell phone while trying to park the rental, met john norris of mtv news ?!?!?!, somehow lost the ticket in all the rock and roll fracas sunday was a show in brooklyn big pro place, not that packed, oscar night.... the car i was in on the way to the bar afterwards got pulled over for no headlight/me being in the car, keyboardist almost broke his ankle and had to go to a doctor the next morning, now on crutches. kristin and stephanie went back to baltimore to return the rental and get the van today then drove to phili to pick up the pedals honey left at the club friday night..... on monday honey brad and i hopped a ride with a film crew to play at vassar, left at 3pm got back at 3am. tomorrow we are supposed to go to boston and then on to montreal and so forth, but there is a huge blizzard scheduled to hit boston tomorrow, so we'll see.....
the white rainbow sets have been fun, its hard to get all calm and focused for my shows while in such a constant rush...whiskey has helped a bit. honey's valet sets with brian and bradford are seriously the best valet sets i have ever seen and heard. the drums and samples and keyboards bringing added depth and undulating pulses or psychedelic blues bliss. mmmm
atlas sound sets have been pretty fun. its fun to play songs again as opposed to the straight ambient improv i do, and it seems like for the most part the audiences have liked what we add to bradford's songs. its a very interesting combo of bands on this trip for sure.
also, return of dog drugs...

Adam,
I'm so sorry I haven't been able to make it to the "gigs". It's incredibly hard to do anything with the baby. I'm going to try and make it to the show tonight, but I'm a bit nervous about the snow situation and crap. Hope to see you soon!!

Saw your show at Vassar last night, so good!!! Your music is totally blissed out and trance inducing, but at the same time so tight! I can't believe it's improv. Either you rehearse a lot, or you are talented as hell. Probably both!

Please come around again and play longer next time!

P.S. The Valet set was also very awesome, great voice and guitar. Unfortuneately I only caught the tail end but it sounded sweet!

Good Luck with the rest of the tour!

this is perfect. the fact that someone is on crutches just seems to make it all so, err, cinematic?

Skipping Baltimore on tour is always bad luck.

Skipping Baltimore on tour is always bad luck. Daniel Higgs has some kind of sorcerer powers.

Please excuse the (sort of) double comment.

I tried to bring out the Northwest support contingent to the first NYC show, but our dinner lasted too long. we got to Mercury Lounge right as you were coming off the stage. too bad, especially because I'm so in love with Valet after last summer's Heckfest set.
and the constant reminder: if you want to come to Charlottesville, Virginia (my current home -- not the NW, nor NYC), you are welcome.
people love you here. and DC is a little too far away.
