i was hoping this mix would sound like we found this cool tape underneath the seat of honey's truck or something. maxell type I cassette with the pink and yellow triangles and circles...kind of distorted and blown out......
lots of the tunes come from the awesome mp3 blogs curved-air.com and fm-shades.blogspot.com
sweet turkey grooves!
adam, this is totally fab. thanks for putting it together. super awesome.
Oh man, that Brothers Johnson trip out jam is so amazing! AHHH!
Man, it is so cool that you put this together. I find myself 'lost' lately when it comes to figuring out what music I even like any more - guides like you help out.
Constructive criticism of a nerd nature follows: A "podcast" is more usable / powerful as an actual _podcast_ than a 40+ MB mp3 file. A full-blown podcast is an RSS / XML feed that uses enclosures for individual MP3 files - that way, users can tell what's playing, start listening faster, skip around the playlist, etc.
I'm probably being a pedantic geek and you already know this - sorry. There is a downside, too - it's hard if not impossible to smoothly have a zero-gap transition from song to song, so it would sound less like a DJ performance than this piece does.
I hope to make it to tomorrow night's thing at the Towne; free is a very good price at the holiday season.
