so yesterday i took Khalea (the blow) back up to olympia after she had spent a week in pdx recording with jona (yacht) for an EP on states rights (the first pregnancy) (i hope thats not supposed to be a surprise) anyway the shit sounds so fucking good. tight-ass jona electonic pop production and lots of comely-conceptual khaela singing. such a match made in heaven. BK's opera and this shit are taking this electonic girl pop to a new level. seriously. good job dudes. all of you. i love you.
i was also going up to Oly to visit my old friend calvin johnson, mr k records, mr serious record collection, mr funny guy, mr awesome, mr fancy-pants, brother of the good cat pookers, long time co-conspirator and ex-roommate. so fucking good to see the dude. and the girls of K, and amber bell, who i spilled rootbeer on at the pizza parlour we went to. yeah so we went to Dirty Dave's Gay 90's pizza and pasta house. got two pizzas: one with jalapinos and cashews and mushrooms, one with green and black olives and green peppers. we rolled in a crew seven deep. amber bell, khaela, calvin, awesome joel, johannah, k amber and me. good shit.
then calvin and i bailed to go see starsky and hutch. shit kinda sucked....
then we went back to his house, khaela came over and we had the last fire of winter in his fire place. listened to african dance hall. great times.
AND i got a bunch of free mic's from EV to check out.
i drove home after midnight, listening to some lungfish cd i borrowed from CJ, some deep micro-ish house shit i borrowed from honey
yeah
and i just talked to my old buddy joe guest, (my roommate back in nyc, among other things), who just got hired on to work with GVS on that awesome 90's NW rock movie he's making. he's getting married soon too. seems like everyone i know is getting married.

besides that, im still mildly licking my wounds after last nights awkward dunes experience.

also: can i talk about THE BEAUTY? this awesome white-persons-funk band that todd from meow meow and his friend matt have put together. so awesome. so funky. so RHCP. so something else. confused looks on the faces of teenage hardcore dudes loading in at meow meow as we were finishing up our practice. who knew richey could do simple funk guitar AND back up vox? or play second snare and high hat? who knew jona and i would become such an in demand rythym section in 2004. the two of us need to start charging for this shit
which reminds me: jona and i have to start working on this awesome mix cd for WK SOON. riddim brothers united force of funk. or as we used to say ion yume: it takes TEAMWORK to make a DREAM WORK. yes.
the d yellow swans record is still alluding me. need to work on that soon. so crazy harsh. i also want to work on a bunch of ambient music for myself. once honey and i get more moved into the birdnest i will set up a classic birdnest studio and get to work on creating some mellow drones for you all. i just want to release limited vinyl(with cdr included) ambient records. and/or audio video dvd's or vcds or something. longer peices. yeah.

DIRTY PROJECTORS @ Dunes saturday march 13th
dave will be in town for a couple of days with jake. this will be a crucial apex to his vist, im sure. perhaps he will play us the finished getty? maybe climb on things? get mad at people for talking? play in the bathroom? be real nice all night? wear funny clothing? probably all of these things. this show is with the other weird solo performers. namely "shine" and "hiway". i kknow nothing about these dudes, except they are from other scenes, and will bring other people to the show, which i whole-heartedly endorse

these dudes toured with calvin and phil a while back. totally crazy garage punk and the guy plays guitar with his penis, they shoot fireworks out of their asses, are part of the reason i love atlanta GA so much, they drink their own pee on stage = very cool. like going to see gallaghar, maybe.
