BIG JEAN!
by steve
Watching the news is informative and fun. You have to been aware and selective when picking which news you watch.
Today I learned about the fake letters the army is forging and sending to local newspapers to boost public opinion about America's continued involvement in Iraq and Bush's approval rating.
I also learned about this insane jailbreak that seems like it must be from 40 years ago.
Plus, I learned about the possible sequel to Sixteen Candles which is being made as a TV movie. It will, apparently, be called....32 Candles. WOW! YIKES!! Molly Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall are attached. The plot goes something like this: Molly's character returns to her hometown and starts to pine over old flame hunk Jake. Anthony Michael Hall's character returns as a millionaire after creating a search engine. Hilarity Ensues!!!
BUT!!! Most importantly, I found out from watching the news today that the world's largest pair of jeans were just unveiled in South Korea. They are levis. They are huge!! I'm not sure exactly how big they are but they beat the old record of 94 ft tall from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada from 2001. They are Levis. The new record holding jeans have a name. They have been christened "BIG JEAN!" A brilliant name for the world's largest pair of jeans. HOORAY BIG JEAN!!!

Wife Swap?
by steve
Here's some more new shows that will be hitting a television near you soon:
1. Comedy Central is developing the first animated reality series. It's called Drawn Together. I looks like it will be pretty funny.
2. ABC is bringing over a popular British reality show called Wife Swap. Wife Swap??? I guess two different wives from two different walks of life switch places for two weeks. The first week the wife has to live by the new husband's rules. The second week the husband has to live by the new wife's rules. Sounds really bizarre. Guess it was a big hit in the UK this summer, though.
3. Jason Alexander is taking another stab at sitcoms. He will be starring in a show on CBS based on columns written for The Washington Post Style section by sports journalist Tony Kornheiser. Kornheiser is also on one of my favorite shows on television ESPN's Pardon the Interruption. This will be Alexander's second attempt at a series post-Seinfeld. His first was called Bob Patterson and he played a motivational speaker. Did anyone see that show? I wanted to, but this was before I had my secret friend (Replay TV). I hope this new show does well, because I think Alexander is talented and I think Kornheiser is pretty funny.

New Ideas, Old Ideas.
by steve
Some interesting shows that are being developed as we speak:
1. An hour long drama based on the 1985 film Teen Wolf. This sounds like it will be like Buffy, which is sorta dissapointing. I hope it maintains the free spirit of the movie.

Hair Raising Fun! (wow. didn't know i could sink that low)
2. A half hour comedy starring Shannen Doherty as someone who has a really bad reputation but is really just a sweetheart.

She looks like a sweetheart, doesn't she?
3. A new show based on the old show and movie Lost in Space.

Danger, Will Robinson, rehashed ideas are never that good!
4. A drama series based on the songs of Elton John (and his co-writer Bernie Taupin)

Huh?? I'm predicting animals somewhere in the mix, come on, Crocodile Rock + The Lion King. Maybe it will be about a zookeeper.
