TV Day

I don't watch much actual, live TV--not having cable, and with too many other digital distractions it makes the concept of watching a show with all the loud commercials seem pretty boring. However, it's always great to be reminded of the quality programming that still exists out there--especially when it can be viewed at your leisure on your computer. Yesterday I went kind of teevee crazy:

1. Finished Extras, and came to the conclusion that while not as innovative as The Office, it's still great to see Ricky Gervais in action, especially when he's in a more sympathetic role. However, I did think it was odd when it took a bit of a Seinfeld turn.

2. Caught up on the latest season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. I was reluctant to give this show a chance when it first came out, because much like Seinfeld I think I was afraid I would relate to the neuroses of the characters, but thankfully it tends to be more enjoyable in some respects, as Larry David is a much stronger and likeable man than George Costanza.

3. Stumbled upon an episode of CSI "Grave Danger" written and directed by Quentin Tarantino that I've had for months--finally decided to see what the deal was with this show. Ehhh, okay I gues--didn't really notice many Tarantino-isms. Dukes of Hazzard board game seemed out of place, and what's up with people obsessing over being buried alive?
